Not only is Taylor Swift a respectable celebrity in the public eye, but she regularly involves her fans in her own personal life by always responding to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr comments from her followers, which will be good for Starbucks publicity moving forward.
Taylor Swift engages her fans in heart-stopping ways. Besides responding to her fans on every social media account, she sent some of her fans “Swiftmas” presents for the holidays while also inviting some fans to check out her new album. She hosted a party at her home for fans to give them a sneak peak at her new album by selectively choosing devoted fans from Twitter to attend her party with dancing and homemade baked goods. Fans blew up Twitter with thank you tweets that went viral. She has donated money to help struggling fans pay of their student loans, and writes empathetic notes or Tumblr posts to fans who are emotionally struggling. I am thankful to ACRL's Recruitment & Nominations committee and honored and humbled to stand for election with Lauren Pressley as a candidate for ACRL vice-president/president-elect. ACRL has been my professional home since my initial years as an academic librarian. The landscape of higher education and academic libraries continues to ever evolve as much as technology transforms asynchronous and synchronous learning. Academic libraries and librarians must continue to remain relevant. Highlighting our scholarship, teaching, and service to students, faculty, and administrators at our respective institutions. In Jonathan Swift’s satire, “A Modest Proposal”, Swift writes about the starving people of Ireland in the early 1700’s. He makes a wild and absurd proposal to help remedy the problems of overpopulation and poverty. Swift wants to make a political statement by using the “children” as satire to grasp the attention of the audience - the English people, the Irish politicians and the rich – and make them aware of the political, moral, and social problems. In “A Modest Proposal”, Swift’s arguments are presented effectively by using pathos (emotional appeal), ethos (ethics and values), and logos (logic reasoning and facts).
No one suggests that past offending behaviour should not be available to the police or courts and that the DBS ought not to monitor employment in certain professions to protect the public. The question that ought to be asked is how many businesses not involved in professional contact with children or vulnerable people do not ask for details of previous convictions. An individual refusal Exclusion remains the single most important thing that will ever happen to you. You will never be allowed to escape from the ROA while successive governments remain fixated on initiatives.
Sectarian violence, subjugatory patriarchy, and societal militarization – all are but a few problems that have plagued the Pakistani state. Each of these issues has direct consequences that are plain to see, yet what is often forgotten is that malaises of this sort are, arguably, secondary aftereffects of a far more basal and ingrained problem – that of the ruinous state of Pakistan’s education system. At the expense of other, rather more “visible” crises, education has thus far occupied a backwater in the public consciousness – with the result that as education minister I have received negligible support from my own party members for raising the education budget above its 1988 high of a sorry 2.88% of GDP. This nation’s (deservedly infamous)
In aiming to increase the number of health workers that provide HIV testing in public health centers in rural and urban areas, I am hoping that all people, not only those living with HIV/AIDS, realize that there is more access to affordable healthcare. One of the biggest issues that Andhra Pradesh faces currently is that most health centers are private and come at a high cost, resulting in a shortage of staff in public hospitals and clinics, leaving low-income people with less access to healthcare. By increasing the amount of staff in current public health centers, ideally the reputation of public healthcare will change for the better. As current geography of Andhra Pradesh show, public health centers are scarce and even the ones that are currently
