Aside from getting paid a generous amount of money to be around babies and experience happy moments with families, “you could receive a sense of achievement, independence, and recognition” (Obstetrician and Gynecologist OK College). Also, OB/GYN’s are always going to be necessary in the medical field. “The number of jobs open for OB/GYN in 2014 was 24,400 and the expected job openings in the next 10 years will be 10,800, which is a 17.6% increase” (Obstetricians and Gynecologists OK Career). Some of the professional organizations associated with Obstetrics and Gynecology would be the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, American Board of Medical Specialties, and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (Obstetricians and Gynecologists Bureau). If you ever want to advance in this career, “you can gain expertise in specialties and subspecialties and develop a reputation for excellence among peers and patients”
