A Brief Biography Of Walt Disney

Passion. Innovation, self-confidence, the power to motivate, the courage to take risks, and a vision; these qualities are what make a great leader. But, what makes a memorable leader? Well, it’s going above and beyond what others are doing, its taking creativity to a new level and inspiring people. Walt Disney is a leader who did that; with his innovative trait he was able to transform the entertainment industry.

Throughout Walt Disney’s 43 year career, he was able to pioneer the fields of animation, create the world’s best theme parks, and inspire and delight generations of people through entertainment. By doing this he left his legacy on the world, establishing himself and his work as a genuine part of America.

From a young age Walt developed an interest in art, at just seven years old he was selling drawings to neighbors. In high school, teachers asked him to tell stories to the class while illustrating on the board. He also attended an arts school at night during his teenage years. After spending a year in France working for the Red Cross he returned home to pursue a career in commercial art, leading to his interest in animation.

Disney began producing short animations for local business’, and then wound up starting his own company, “Laugh-O-Gram.” Unfortunately, after moving to Hollywood in his early twenties the company went bankrupt. But this set back didn’t stop Disney, he continued to work in order to make his desires become a reality. After marrying his wife Lillian and having two daughters, Walt came up with the iconic “Mickey Mouse.”

...t in order to be successful he had to move with change, but more importantly, strive to be one step ahead. From this understanding, he had the courage to take risks. Being a risk taker allows an individual to explore new innovations. While others were hesitant to take a risk, Walt was optimistic. When he had a vision or an idea, he ran with it.

The leadership skills of Walt Disney are truly inspiring. He is a real role model, one who you can look up to and see that through hard work anything is possible. He left a legacy behind, the world knows his name and will continue to be entertained by his work forever. The great thing about him is that it wasn’t just his close followers that were inspired, but rather, generations and generations od people around the world.
