Walt Disney: A Visionary Tycoon
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” (50 Great Quotes from Walt Disney) Walt Disney had a strong determination to never give up. Despite all the struggles he had come across, he always had another idea to pursue. Disney always had an interest in art and he had the courage to pursue his dream. In his lifetime, he was able to achieve many of his lifelong plans. Although fame and fortune did not come to him all at once, he built a lifelong legacy for himself.
Walter Elias Disney was born on the 5th of December in the year 1901 in Chicago. His parents were of English/Irish and German descent. Traveling quite frequently, he and his family moved between Missouri, Kansas City, and back to Chicago. Disney grew up with a passion for art. He took art classes as a child, and also had the opportunity to be the cartoonist for his school’s magazine. Walt soon dropped out of school to join the army, and was rejected for being underage. Soon after, in 1918 Disney began to drive an ambulance in France after enlisting in Red Cross. One year later, he moved back to Kansas to start his career in what took him down the road to fame, the film industry. (Walt Disney Biography) Walt Disney formed Laugh-O-Gram Films in 1922. One year later in 1923, he relocated to Los Angeles where he incorporated the Disney Bros and partnered with his brother Roy. He signed a contract with Margaret Winkler to produce “Alice Comedies” which gave his product national distribution. In 1927 Disney’s distributer arranged for “Oswald the Lucky Rabbit” cartoon series to be distributed through Universal, which gave Disney Films regular access to theaters and intro...

After his death, Walt’s brother, Roy, finished the theme park and it was opened in 1971. The theme Park’s name was Walt Disney World (Walt Disney Biography). The Walt Disney Company continued on with Disney’s ideas after his death, with headquarters in Burbank, California (World Book).
In conclusion, Walt Disney lived a very successful life. He had been married with children, and built a great name for his family. Disney never gave up on his dreams. He took multiple art classes in order to pursue his career. Despite his failures, he never lost sight in what was most important to him, his career in art. If Walt Disney was alive today, it is believed that he would still be producing cartoons and animation for children’s movies.
