I think that instead of a five day school week we should only have a three day school week. I think that a three day school week would not only benefit the district financially but also improve students grades and habits. If I was in charge of making this happen in the district I would make it so that school is an extra hour or two hours to make up for the two days we are adding onto our weekend. I think that a three day school week would benefit our students learning habits and grades because if we had a four day weekend students would have more time to do there homework and study more or there test which would improve their attitude and help them feel more confident about grades in the class. Financially it would help the schools and the
Students now have the opportunity to work another day to save for their future. The four-day school week also provides much more time for these children to spend and enjoy time with friends, and family, as well as enjoying extracurricular activities. There is a lovely environment for the children at the school and an extra day for the instructors to gain knowledge and a better understanding of their curriculum. The schools will be saving a varying amount of money that could be used in case of an emergency with money of any kind. Whether it is an emergency funding program, or money to fund an extracurricular activity. In conclusion, the four-day school week has proven itself to be a very effective form of education that Colby Public Schools most certainly should switch to within the coming
School days should be shorter fro students because they do not get enough sleep, have to much homework, and have barley have time to participate in extra curricular activities. A majority of students have sleep depravation due to school. If school would either start or end late students will have a greater opportunity to get more sleep. Teachers expect students to pay attention for 90 minutes while the night before they were up late finishing their homework for there classes. Some teachers do not realize that students have a life and work or have other obligations that take up a major portion of the students.
Have you ever felt like weekends go by too fast? Do you become tired of going to school five times a week?School can be exhausting and it often seems as though it is not worth the trouble. This is especially true when school is dragged on for five days at a time with only small breaks in between the next school week. Although a four-day school week may not sound appealing, students and teachers at Sturgis Williams Middle School could greatly benefit from it.
Now days, normal American students go to school 5 days in a week. However, some places over the United States operate 4 days of school week system. Those school surprisingly observe positive changes. Therefore, American schools should operate 4 days of school week because schools can save their budget costs, and students can have more time to enjoy outdoor activities, pursue additional educational goals and improve academic achievement since students are in less stressful environment.
School can be known as a dreadful reality of everyday life for a countless number of people. Students and teachers all over the country are constantly looking forward to the next day off of school. Often times students find every excuse to miss school, even if it’s just for a couple of hours. Having to go to school five days in a row with only a two day break is a lot to handle for most people. Many schools are converting from a five-day school week to a four-day school week for many different reasons. Colby Public Schools needs to implement a four day school week because it helps lower the stress levels of students and teachers, improves overall attendance, and saves excess amounts of money.
Every summer children lose valuable information. When school is back in session, students spend months trying to recall everything that was forgotten over those few weeks off. The arrangement of days in the academic year does play a role on how students perform in school, but not so much on the expenses. Therefore, schools should implement Year-Round education because it more affordable and is better for the children in the long run.
According to some school districts, "teachers and student absences have decreased with the four-day school week. The reason for the decrease in teachers and students' absences is logical because that one extra day will help them finish what they need to in the right amount of time. Another issue that can be prevented with a four day of school is the increasing drop out rate and disciplinary referrals in high school. Having disciplinary referrals can cause a bad impression on teachers and colleges.
Students around the Nation have always pleaded to have no school on Fridays. In fact, for many schools around the nation, school on Friday has already been abolished. This letter is of regards to those who believe (and have not received) that school on Friday should be terminated! Students who go to school - whether it be elementary, middle, or high school - have always wanted less school. I, along with the rest, do believe that decreasing school days would be very beneficial for students as well as teachers.
Have you ever heard the saying that “Time is money?” Well this statement holds truth to it and when it comes to school, the saying is right on the money. The economy has seen an increase in inflation and it seems like everything is on the rise. Constantly, people are struggling to find money. Money is an issue for many, especially for schools facing budget cuts and high school students who are seeking out opportunities to go to college. Could a solution to this lie within how a school system’s schedule is set-up? Well traditionally, high schools have been run on a five day schedule where students attend school for approximately seven to eight hours. Now, from pressure from the economy, a small percent of high schools have seen a change in scheduling to a four-day week and the benefits seen from this have been substantial. School system debates have been prevalent since schools began, and like any issue, there are benefits and drawbacks of the four-day school week. Even though critics may argue that an extra day out of school would be a waste of time, changing every high school to the four day week schedule would yield many benefits, including cutting school spending, increasing school performance, opening up job opportunities for high school students to earn money, and preparing students for college.
First, the cost of going an extra hour is tremendous. The teachers will want a raise in their checks, because they will have to deal with kids for an extra hour rather than go home and spend time with their family. Also, the school will have to pay for electricity so the school will run out of money quick. I want our school to at least keep money so
The school board plans to add one and a half hours to school each day . I strongly disagree about the school board adding a hour and 30 minutes to school hours .
More school, I don’t think so ! an hour and a half may not seem like a lot of time but when our day and time is already full then an hour and a half can throw everything out of whack. To begin with, there would be a lot less time for sports and friends. As much as I hate doing them, chores there just would not be enough time to do them and lets face it our parents really like that one. I do understand that chores teach us responsibility and they also teach us to appreciate and take care of things we have. Finally, we would not have enough time to get our homework done and that would cause us to get bad grades and more students would be failing their classes. As can be seen, extending the school hours would not allow the children a break to rest our brains.
The traditional School schedule is set up so students go to school for 9 months and then have a 3-month summer Vacation. This system dates back to a time when most people's lively hood was farming; therefore, the educational schedule was built around the times of harvest and planting. But in modern day, with so little farmers this schedule is severely out dated. The long break in the summer encourages students to forget knowledge that they learned that previous year, forcing teachers to review information for 4-6 weeks, time that could be well used teaching students new and enriching things. This schedule also isn't very cost effective, for three months schools stand empty and unused, which is ridicules due to how over crowded the educational system is. Does it really make sense to use an outdated schedule when with every other aspect of our lives we want the newest and the best?
School should be four days a week with an extra hour added to each school day because it would save money for the school system, increase student motivation, stimulate the economy, and promote student achievement. There has been a decrease in education due to the small amount of resources, causing classrooms to be bigger and children not being able to extend their knowledge. Even though the economy has been falling, each school district has been working hard to promote student education, which could mean trading a traditional school schedule for a four-day school week. Replacing a normal school schedule for the four day school week can raise the school budget tremendously. (Hart, Demand Media).
That one day can relieve the stress of a busy week and make a student feel refreshed. A refreshed student will learn better than a stressed-out student. The same goes for a teacher. A teacher that has had that one extra day of rest can teach better than a stressed-out teacher because a well rested student will be more relaxed, calm, and patient. & nbsp; Although some people may think extending the school week will benefit the education level of the country I think otherwise. Extending the school week could actually hurt the education level of our country. Eliminating time for family, work, and relaxation will affect the attitudes of the students and teachers. Their
