Gaspard Monge, also known as Count de Péluse, was born on Monday, the 9th of May, 1746 in Beaune, Bourgogne, France. He was the son of Jacques Monge and Jeanne Rousseaux. During his childhood his father was a small merchant. Later in 1777 Monge was wed to Cathérine Huart. Gaspard died on Tuesday, the 28th of July in the year 1818 in Paris, France.
