Language plays an important role in a human being's life because people would not communicate with others without there being a language. There are thousand of languages around the world. Due to this reason, communication can sometimes be difficult and inconvenient. Having a universal language will remove and make communication more convenient for people around the world to communicate with each other. Universal language would benefit people in many ways, but there are also some disadvantages to take into consideration.
In today’s world, it is almost impossible for two people from two different countries to have a conversation with each other. Having a universal language would make it much easier for people around the world to communicate. There will not be any barriers preventing people from understanding each other. For example, a person from Vietnam would easily talk with another person from America, even though they are from different countries. Travelers can travel wherever they want without having language difficulties. They will not need to learn another language to travel. ...
Language allows us to communicate with other human beings and without it the world would be doomed. We would not be able to understand anything or have the abilities to cooperate with each other. Although language is made up by humans and not the world, we choose to believe otherwise. Everyday we go on with our lives thinking that the world created everything, but that is not true because something or someone had to create the world as the world was not just there. Language is essential to the world just as water is essential to people. For example, those who are deaf and communicate with sign-language sometimes struggle because not everyone knows how use
What really is a language and how does it affect the world around us? Language is just a structure of words put together to communicate with one another. When one speaks all they are doing is causing their vocal cords to vibrate to produce different sound waves. This sounds so simple, but there are thousands of languages spoken throughout the world and each language is usually connected to a certain place. When someone travels to a different place where a language is foreign to them it can be life-changing as in The Naked Eye. Language constricts our thoughts and identities with the world around us. I’m arguing that language is as much of a necessity in our world as food or water, it’s the basis on how we get through each and every day.
From when we were young, we have been taught the ability to communicate. Communication has been an important skill that we utilize everyday. Skills like talking, writing, and reading have helped us interact with others. There are several languages throughout the course of history and society today and many use them for several different tasks such as communicating with citizens from different countries and cultures.
Language is integral in affirming and maintaining wellbeing, self esteem and a strong sense of identity. Languages contain complex understandings of a person’s culture and their connection with their land.
It was at the tower of Babel that the linguistic nations were born, for it was there that all shared a single language, until God stepped into their united project “to reach the heavens” and confused their communications (Gen. 11.5-9). For years, the world, separated by barriers such as mountains, oceans, and states, has developed and used thousands of diverse languages. As trade, travel, and international relationships have increased throughout the years, so has the need for a universal language.
Actually, the majority of people in the world “speak 1.69 languages- not high enough to conclude that the average person is bilingual” (source C). Having the ability to communicate in one language can help others communicate in everyday life from walking through town and shopping to making deals in business. Having a society that is monolingual can improve economies and relations throughout the world. Also, there was a survey in 2007 to determine the number of 5 year olds and older who spoke a language other than English at home. Out of the 280,950,438 people, 225,505,953 of them spoke only English at home (source E). This means that again 20% of people spoke a language other than English at home. English is a popular language, not just in English speaking countries, but also in countries that it is not the primary language. As the world changes, English becomes more and more of a necessity for society to communicate. As time progresses, English may be the only language needed to communicate more for people around the world. Through the globalization of the English language, its effects would greatly improve society by shortening time lost in language barriers and improve understandings of
A global language is one that is widespread internationally and used as the common one for communication between various groups and societies. It is the language that is most taught and learnt as a foreign and/ or a second language worldwide. This kind of language has a large amount of prestige, and official or special status. It is the language of politics, international business or economics, international communication, academic conferences, science, technology, tourism, media, publishing of books or journals, newspapers, and health sciences.
As the name suggests, linguistic learners most easily acquire information through words. They love to read, write, and tell stories. Memorizing names, places, dates, and trivia come naturally to these learners (Mantle, 2002). People with a linguistic preference have an awareness of the sounds, rhythms, and meaning of words. These students learn best by saying, hearing, and seeing words.
Though speaking in a second language is important, with everyone in the world learning different languages, it can become a little confusing. Imagine that you are visiting France, a great country, and happen to come across a point where you have to speak to someone, in French. With half of the world knowing English, and half that not, it is very confusing. If everyone speaks English, you can communicate with people around the world without having to focus on which of the many languages your speaking. Another reason why learning a second language is useless is that the amount of money put into the schools to learn a second language is unnecessary.
Therefore, this is able to encourage the ability to communicate and appreciate the depth and diversity of the world. Communication with two different countries, or three, or four, will further bring the world closer together, in hopes of closing the divide between some countries. By learning a second language, it can significantly broaden your native language as it gives you stronger vocabulary skills, improved literacy skills and a better understanding of the grammar and construction of your own native language. Furthermore, this can help you in other educational studies. Though it is possible to travel to another country without acquiring the native language, the experience you will have is greatly diminished as you will not see beyond the surface of their culture. Additionally, knowing the native language makes travelling easier, by being able to order meals in restaurants, ask and understand directions. Additionally, it makes it easier to find accommodation, it’s more enjoyable, informative and more satisfying. You are able to further understand and appreciate international literature, music and films, by being able to understand word plays, innuendoes, cultural references, metaphors and further improve your ability to speak the
It has been adopted by different sectors making it one of the most used languages in the globe. This has been attributed to its effective nature, easy learning and rich history. However, conservative groups exist who argues that there should be global language since it may cause the emergence of superior cultures. Nevertheless, it is evident that different cultures ranging from the early polish immigrants, the African American community, the advertising and media will greatly benefit from the globalization of the English language. This will prove in the end that English is indeed a global

Even though there are advantages as well as disadvantages, the need for international language for communication, politics, economics and security is necessary and English is the best “language candidate” for that function. English is a language spread all over the world and it is used by millions and millions of speakers. According to my opinion, people should use English as a tool to communicate with all cultures but every country must keep their culture and language is a great part of it. In conclusion, language defines identity of a country and everyone should keep their language and explore others.
At this juncture, the importance of learning a second language becomes compulsory. Hence, learning a second language helps you to communicate across the world to conduct business, learning education, exporting and importing things from one nation to another nation. In addition to that, the importance of second language learning emphasized everyday when we see the diversity of world cultures that make up all human beings as global communication.
Also English is the language that consociate the whole World (Pike, 2013). It is important to learn English for being a global citizen - a person that can live anywhere, thrive anywhere, and speak to anyone (Pike, 2013), the more people learn English, the more people can approach to the World. That means different countries can exchange their idea, knowledge and technology by using English. English lead our country to be more developed and wealthy.
