It is very important for early childhood educators to know about the NAEYC code of ethics. There are four responsibilities for the code. The first is the ethical responsibility you have is to children. This means making sure children are safe, and learning needs are being taken care of. Educators need to make sure they are supporting children in the best way possible. The second ethical responsibility you have is to families. This meaning to make sure you are communicating with families about their child's progress. The third responsibility is to colleagues. They need to make sure they are all working together and. This helps everything to run smoothly. The last ethical responsibility is to the community. Educators need to make sure the programs they are offering to meet the needs of everyone in the community. They also need to make sure they are working with other to provide children with the resources they need like health care, food and shelter. They are many reasons why we have the code of ethics. The first is power and status of practitioners. Children are able to defend themselves and stand up for what they need. We need to make sure we are using our power and status to help children. Educators have a multiplicity of clients. They need to make sure they are balancing the needs of everyone and know who is the priority. They also need to make sure the practices and standards they use are fully researched. This is making sure educators know all the different roles they play in a child's life. Without the code of ethics early childhood educators would not know how their duties effected children, families, colleagues, and the community. ...etimes this can be hard when what you believe is not what the law says. I feel like that dilemma about the formula was taken care of in the right way. I always have felt it is very important not to be changing an infant diet. When you find a formula that works, you need to stick to it. It was great that the teachers were able to find a way to make sure all parents were able to keep using the formula of their choice at the center. When I heard the dilemma about the little boy it made me sad that any child would have to live in that kind of situation. I wish the school could have done more. I plan to use the code of ethics in my teaching. I will try to make sure I am following it in my practice. It is very important for me to have a good understanding to the code of ethics. By having a good understanding, I will be able to handle different situations I might run into.
I agree with you that the nurses violated provision 9 of the nursing code of ethics. Nurses have an obligation to themselves, their whole team and to the patients to express their values. Communication is key in a hospital, so everyone knows what is correct and what isn’t within the workplace. In order to have a productive, ethical, positive environment. These values that should be promoted affect everyone in the hospital, especially the patients, and can have a negative outcome if those values are not lived out. Nurses have to frequently communicate and reaffirm the values they are supposed follow frequently so when a difficult situation comes along that may challenge their beliefs they will remain strong and their values will not falter.

The Code of Ethics for Nurses was created to be a guide for nurses to perform their duties in a way that is abiding with the ethical responsibilities of the nursing profession and quality in nursing care. The Code of Ethics has excellent guidelines for how nurses should behave, however; these parameters are not specific. They do not identify what is right and wrong, leaving nurses having to ultimately make that decision. Ethics in nursing involves individual interpretation based on personal morals and values. Nursing professionals have the ethical accountability to be altruistic, meaning a nurse who cares for patients without self-interest. This results in a nurse functioning as a patient advocate, making decisions that are in the best interest of the patient and practicing sound nursing ethics.
Now as a school it is important to establish expectations but also be consistent. Some of the teachers were enforcing the student expectation and others were not. As an administration it was something presented and discussed at the staff meeting. The mediocre teachers seemed to be more passionate about allowing the kids to eat in class where I observed the “best teachers” wanted to enforce and following with the consistency of the previously established student expectation.and not allow students to eat during class time. I could tell the decisions were made based on both what was best for everyone verses what made the mediocre teachers more comfortable. The majority or the mediocre teachers felt uncomfortable confronting students and did not want to be seen as mean by both students and parents. Applying the theory created by Whitaker, the majority would rather be comfortable than do whats right. In the case study with Principal Miller, he had to make a decision to change the instruction program or to keep it. There was a group of parents that wanted students grouped by their ability. The other group of parents wanted the instruction to stay the same. Principal Miller was new to the school and had very little knowledge of the school. This leaves some critical issues that Principal Miller has to think about while he made his choice. He needed to make sure that the children were getting the best education that he can provide as the leader in the school. He also needs to think about the other educators in the building and how they would feel about the grouping. If Mr. Miller changes any instruction it needs to be understood by all of the teachers and staff in the building. Mr. Miller should consider all of the parents, keep an open dialogue with them, and report data for and against the change and finally make the decision.
To understand ethics in the nursing field, you must first know what ethics is. A general explanation of ethics is the beliefs, values and morals that an individual has. These may not be that same for everyone and some may disagree with each others ethics. Ethics is dealing with what is right and what is wrong everyone has different views regarding what is. Nursing code of ethics was developed as a guide in carrying out nursing responsibilities in a matter consistent with quality in nursing care and the ethical obligations of the profession (ANA, 2010). The term ethics refers to the study of philosophical ideals of right and wrong behavior (Olin, 2012). There is a total of nine provisions however, throughout this paper I will discuss provisions one through four.
