It's is hard enough in the world with things people are afraid of or worried about throughout life. what if life was just something that may not be as important, that maybe death is the greater option. That something came in and took over, which changed ones prospective on life and the will to fight. Rules and procedures do apply when it comes to making it through the multiples days of the vast world of zombies. One may want to make sure he follows some of the main key points and rules of surviving, a zombie outbreak. Keep to these very concrete rules and regulations to be prepared and make it more than one day in the outbreak.
1. Supplies are needed Every house should have a "zombie kit" that consists of food, water, medication, , duct tape, a radio, clothes, first-aid supplies and weapons of mass destruction. Water, food and weapons are the three most valuable things one will need to survive.
2. Get somewhere safe
After one has packed his or her zombie survival kit it's time to find a safety ground to set up camp. the about a zombie spread will make one feel obligated to leave town – after all, that's not very true, one should not leave right town right away. One has know idea if people maybe around to help were he or she is already, leaving to early can mess that up. On the other hand; if you're in a big city it creates a problem: everyone rushing to escape, can cause a deadlock ;which at this time more people will be fine then
That’s where we’re heading” (Dr. Erin Mears, Contagion). Though the zombie metaphor focuses primarily on fear involving unconscious contributors and their mission of adding to their population, the fear of governmental control and how society responds to the epidemic is also an issue that needs to be considered. In this scenario, the viral epidemic is the initial zombie, however, fear is also a main contributor.
Stop! Do not head for the road It is safer to stay in your houses because no matter what the dead will be coming and there is no escaping. Try to be as close as you can to a town so you can get supplies. Zombie proofing your home is the first thing you should do. When Zombie proofing your home, the ideal item would be wood. Board up every window and set traps outside and inside your home. The traps would trap the dead and tell you if they are coming. The absolute safest place to be is in an abandoned prison. Although prison is designed to keep the living inside it is the ideal to keep the dead out. It already have top notch security and a kitchen. Wherever you are try to stay safe and not draw attention to
When situations arise and people die or become ill a value has to be placed on their life to determine if they are going to be healed or if their family is going to be compensated for their loss. The value of life has a variety of interpretations based on the approach a person decides to take. Some people think of human life with an economic point of view which can led to certain deceased citizens receiving more money for accidents than others. The economic view also says that if a surgery is going to cost the government to much money then the person who needs the surgery should not get it. On the other hand, some people look at it emotionally and say that everyone should get an equal amount of money for incidents that occur. People who look
“Because the living dead freeze solid” (122), when word starting to get out that there were zombies, people’s first instinct was to go north. Family after family packed their belongings and ventured to campsites throughout northern Canada or wherever they felt was cold enough to escape the plague. Many people were still trying to hold on to their materialistic ways and brought “hair dryers, GameCubes, [and] laptops by the dozen” (123) with them to the campsites. These families realized very quickly that these items were not beneficial for their survival. Those that did survive the cold Canadian winters were not those who brought the most belongings, but those who had the will power to survive. As days got colder, people were forced to steal from each other, kill each other, and eventually eat each other. The only way to succeed during this brutal time was to go into this ultimate survival mode. “Eventually the sun did come out, the weather began to warm, the snow finally began to melt” and those that were left were the ones that were had the determination to survive (129).
The basic core of the show is that the apocalypse is not entirely different than normal life. When people are put into situations that are new, there are various reactions. Some will bring their old values and beliefs, others will evolve into something they did not even know they were capable of. A few will find out they are more capable and valuable in a civilization such as this than they were before. When it comes down to it, authority figures can come from anywhere, people of power will fight to provide for themselves, and no one is safe from anything in a zombie apocalypse.
A zombie is a monster that has been a horror movie legacy for many years now. Zombie is defined as “a dead person who is able to move because of magic according to some religions and in stories, movies, etc.” Zombies haven’t always been the creature that we see today though. George A. Romero merged the old-forgotten zombie into the standardized version we see today. James Conroy writes, “With his 1968 film Night of the Living Dead, George Romero brought the concept of the slow-moving, flesh-eating zombie into mainstream American culture.” (1) Night of the Living Dead not only set an iconic image for zombies, but it also brought issues you would not normally see in a Zombie film, dealing with race and gender stereotypes.
“Zombie killings are similar to reading and deleting 400 work e-mails on a Monday morning or filling out paperwork that only generates more paperwork, or following Twitter gossip out of obligation, or performing tedious tasks in which the only true risk is being consumed by avalanche” (41). These are all similar to zombie killings because zombies will never go away unless you turn to really harsh tactics like aiming for one’s brain with a shot gun and repeating this for every zombie you come in contact with. In order to clear those 400 emails after reading them you must repeat the steps for each and every one, which is time consuming and can be very frustrating. Completing paperwork is very tedious, and can sometimes become overwhelming you may begin to feel as if it will never end which is common well it can feel similar to that when it comes to zombie killings as well because there will be one zombie followed by another one and many more to come. “Battling zombies is like battling anything….. Or everything” (42). Never assume the war is over because it is not, there will be one or more zombies hiding out, the war is never over. “The zombies you kill today will merely be replaced by the zombies of tomorrow” (44). Zombies are a “live-stock” they are brain dead but they travel in packs and have no limit as to how far they will go. In the movie Dawn of the Dead the zombies actually
Zombies have become very popular due to their depictions of being easy to kill and being communal. Zombie apocalypses are also very relatable due to the fact that they are set in lives similar to our society and seem easy to overcome. Zombies, themselves, can be identified with because we see ourselves when we look at a zombie. Zombies drudge on through the same task of finding human flesh to consume every day just like we drag ourselves to either class or our job in order to sit through another boring lecture or perform the same menial task every day. Just like the zombie, R, in the book, Warm Bodies, said, “I am Dead, but it’s not so bad. I’ve learned to live with it,” we have learned to succumb to our daily routines and just live with
Kirkman describes zombies as an infectious horror in order to establish a close relationship between zombies and contagions. One of the The Walking Dead’s most brilliant successes has been the characterization of the zombies , and it may be the secret of their popularity. In his book, The Walking Dead, Kirkman
In the show we not only see how the zombie functions within the universe of the Walking Dead, we watch Rick come into contact with many zombies and has developed a sense of what they are and were, from the very beginning. From the beginning of the pilot we see him show compassion and remorse to the “Bicycle girl”, before putting her down. Even in the second episode, Guts, there is a moment after Rick kills one of the zombies, he takes out his wallet and starts honoring what this person was, before he was transformed. What the show enforces, is a sense that these Zombies were once everyday people that you would talk to, work with, or just walk by in passing. Now they are reducing
Being able to live life without fear of death would vastly improve people's dispositions. I think we all should take a cue from Epicurus' argument and seize the day, rather than wasting our time on irrational fears.
Mass amounts of people will die, families will be separated, and peaceful ways of life will be long gone. Guard your loved ones, board up your windows and keep your gun under your pillow because you’re gonna need it. I have taught the facts, the opinions, and the theories on the possibility of a zombie apocalypse. I have explained with facts and statistics the ramifications of it if it was to happen, the way and speed at which it can spread, and the cruelty that will follow. You can protect yourself and the ones closest to you, but first you have to believe it.
Now a high-school senior, I still remember my freshman year with a shudder; it was the year my friends and I joked about as the "Year of the Zombie." It wasn't that I had contracted a rare medical disorder that transformed me into one of the walking dead. I had done what many diligent students do: sacrifice most of my sleep time for the sake of academic success.
... of the undead. Either way an outbreak is caused that is a growing crisis. With this is the proliferation of a zombie plague that overtakes military and law enforcement leading to the collapse of a civilian society. This collapse leads to isolated packs of survivors scavenging for food, supplies and life in a world abridged to hostile extremes. The day that a zombie apocalypse begins is sometimes referred to as Z-Day; the movie Shaun of The Dead and the book World War Z reference this term.
As a community we have the responsibility to guard each others lives. It is vital we do not, under any circumstances, deny anyone the right to live, when we should allow them to live as long as possible. We must not destroy anybody’s life, especially the vulnerable or innocent. I believe in protection of life, and am against abortion, murder and euthanasia, so we can live our lives to the full.
