Madness is seen throughout society and is incurable. The stories we read clearly have universal theme of this. In my essay, I will provide examples of how these stories have madness in them. In The Yellow Wallpaper is crazy because the women thinks she’s actually is crazy since she spends her days in a room looking at a wall pr out the window. “This wallpaper has a kind of sub pattern in a different shade, a irritating one for you can only see it in certain lights, and not clearly then. But in the places where it isn’t faded and where the sun is just so I can see a strange provoking, formless sort of figure. “This is one of the many quotes that make her seem like she’s crazy about some wallpaper in a room. ( paragraph 32 ) In A Good Man Is Hard To Find is madness and crazy because of the grandmother. She knew all along what was going on but never said anything. The family were suppose to take a trip but ended up going to Florida so that resulting in the grandmother not being able to visit her family in Tennessee so she planned something that would kill them. She brought the cat and without thinking that they could possible wreck. It was a small town that the people were pulling paper out and on one of them had a black dot that states the winner. But one lady thought it was unfair so she made them redo it but she was the one who won in the beginning. then they ended up killing her. “Mr. Hutchinson went over to his wife and forced the slip out of her hand. It had a black dot, the black spot Mr., summers had made the night before with a heavy pencil in the coal company Mr., Hutchinson held it up and heir was a stir in the crowd…. “It isn’t fair, its isn’t right, Hutchinson screamed and they were upon her.” Then she was killed, all over a slip of paper.
