... this type of knowledge the nurse understood that her patient has a lack of social support and probably depressed. She encouraged Miss. Z to have a positive attitude to her life and current illness. The patient’s knowledge allowed me to understand that the client is having a difficult period in her life. She definitely needs a social worker and a support group to get through this challenging period. In the future I would like to observe more closely how this patient will respond to social worker’s help.

I was questioning what each one is like. Unfortunately, Debbie has only worked with Children and long-term care facilities. She acknowledged me of the fact that children may be harder to work with especially when they’re in pain, but she did enjoy it very much. She prefers doing long-term care facilities due to the variety of patients. I feel that the best idea for me to decide which area I would like to work in would be to volunteer or job shadow in different places to see which one I would like best.

In the interview, I asked her what kind of relationship does she have with her students and she said that she puts them at the same level as here because she doesn’t like the idea one person being superior to someone else. She used a supporting leadership style by allowing her students to feel free to think outside of the box without any judgment while still knowing that she will be there to help if they need it. She also said that she adapts her leadership style depending on the student she is working with. She understands that some people need more help than others and ensures her students that she does not play favorites with any students. Trevino is a very team oriented leader and embraces problem solving skills in her teaching methods. Instead, she is here to make sure that every student is prepared for life after high school. Whenever she talks to her students, you can tell that she is passionate and truly cares about each and every one of their personal well beings inside and outside of school.

Her level of commitment and passion for what she does makes me think that I could get consumed in my role. It would be challenging for me to work for someone who is so focused, articulate, and disciplined about her work that it could be overwhelming. It appears that Sheryl has clear expectations in terms of her commitment to her job and her family. She has publically stated that she is home by 5:30 pm to be with her family (Ignatius, 2013). I know that I can go “all in” and in turn, lose focus on other things around me. While it could be intimidating, I would certainly benefit from working for a leader who establishes clear expectations and empowers me to find ways to do the things I want to do in my life. When the leader leads by his/her own example it is easier for me to observe how he/she manages and prioritizes the work without as much internal questioning as to whether I am working as hard or being as effective as
She has a clear understanding of the information that needs to be dispersed to the trainees. She knows the facts and has done research on the skills that she is teaching.
