Organizing your story is crucial, because it keeps the reader from falling into confusion. In our notes, we learn how punctuation, paragraph and section breaks can make a difference when use correctly. Our notes say punctuation resembles a stop sign. A paragraph break is more like a stoplight. It takes longer to help the reader know the next paragraph will talk about something else. A section break is a much bigger transition. It gives the reader time to process what they have read, in which they can move on to the next section. Yet, all these paragraph and section breaks should still flow together. In the story, “Wonders of the Shore” by Andrea Barrett she divides her story into five sections. They all focus on a different subject, but overall under the same topic. The story is about Henrietta and Daphne. Although Henrietta is like an assistant to Daphne, they are also friends. They go on this trip and Daphne befriends Celia who is a well-known writer. The section covers a sub-topic that is significant to the overall story. For example, Section I talks about the book. The way it looks and the acknowledgements the author wrote for it. Section II is where we are introduced to the characters mentioned in section I. We know who Celia is, what Daphne does and we meet our main character Henrietta. Section III is about our main character, Henrietta we get informed more about her. We get told who is Mason, the vacation she takes with Daph, her avoiding Mason and why she feels she can never catch to Daphne work wise. Section IV is where we get into the storyline, the incident where we see how Celia is trying to drag Daphne away from Henrietta. Henrietta gets close to Sebby and lies about Mason to get compassion out of him. On Section V, we find out that Celia died and so did Sebby. We also find out Sebby and Henrietta had a fling that
