William Shakespeare was often a hard man to decrypt through his works, but when one studies him as a man a lot can be found on what kind of person he was. Shakespeare wrote many plays and poems that are often referenced nowadays, about 419 years later. Some of his plays you may have heard of are Romeo and Juliet or Hamlet. Research proves that, “His fellow playwright Ben Jonson wrote that, ‘Whatsoever he penned, he never blotted out a line’; Jonson, a slow and careful writer, considered Shakespeare’s ease and speed to be a sign of carelessness” (Chrisp 25). His peers were often his critics, in fact Jonson considered his way of getting work done quite preposterous. Shakespeare’s speed was different than many others, and he was able to complete many works and plays in a fairly short amount of time, which pleased the publics want for new and rousing plays. William`s way of working got him many places. One of those places is very coveted among the hierarchy of England, in the Royal Household. Encyclopedia Britannica says, “Shakespeare`s theatrical company was taken under the King`s patronage and called the King`s company. Shakespeare and the other actors were made officers of the royal household.” William was not just a writer of his time, but also an actor. He was very successful in this area, however others were astounded that he performed in his own plays. For example others said, “Shakespeare was a gifted playwright and also a popular actor in his own works. Queen Elizabeth had such a great impact on the performing arts and what they are today. She had been fond of many different poets and play writers, although she seemed to take to William Shakespeare the most. He was born just 6 years after she had ascended the throne so by the time they were able to meet performing arts was at it’s peak. This helps us to assume why Shakespeare was so fond of the arts being that we do not have much documented about his life. Shakespeare is one of the most mysterious men in the history of literature the events in his life were not very well chronicled. William Shakespeare started his life on 1564-1616 in Stratford upon Avon. He was a great poet and playwright. He did lots of plays in London in the Globe Theater. He did not had a great education or a great life. He lost one of his child to an unknown cause. Shakespeare’s birth is unknown, his education was not good, he got married at a young age, his religion is unknown, he went to London to do plays, and his death was at age 52.
William wrote an average of 2 plays per year for his acting company and performed often. Despite his great works, some critics questioned the authorship of Shakespeare. In the Renaissance period in England, many authors used pseudonyms because the publication of poetry and drama existed as one of the taboos. Considering this, many books and articles were written claiming that someone other than William Shakespeare wrote the plays and poems.

He or she was able to rhyme, use iambic pentameter, use puns, and was able to contribute 1,200 at minimum of the English language in one play itself. Which Williams Shakespeare was clearly unable to write these plays. Many people believe he wrote the plays that are in his name but as research shows he did not have the right education, he did not have the means, motive, or opportunity, and he did not publish any of his plays while he was alive.

In fact, even today, no one can match his works or perform as well as he did. No other plays have been performed as many times as Shakespeare’s. Several critics of theatre try to focus on the language of Shakespeare and to take out excerpts from the literary text and make it their own resulting in various persons, poets, authors, psychoanalysts, psychologists and philosophers.
