The sales industry is filled with people trying to make sales and gain trust from random strangers without thinking if you need the services or goods they sell to you. In the presence of a salesman, most people have a feeling of being pressurized using twisted truth to buy things, and salespeople go a step further to convince us of the benefits of making the purchase. People find it hard to trust sales professions particularly due to annoying situations whereby the sales people promise particular features that were later not available after one made a purchase. Bias, in this case, means that the salesman is just interested in making their commission and does not care if the customer is stupid or intelligent. Salespeople are targeted to sell, and if people know this, they would no longer have to trust salespeople and their ever real testimonials. The only time a salesperson can be trusted is when you have not bought the product they are promoting as that is the time they use to gain your attention (Anderson, 2016). Most people complain about the after service provided after a sale implying that after most companies have made a deal, they are no longer interested in answering your questions as a client and such results in a negative customer perspective. Salespeople tend to convince us to spend financially, so there are high chances they will not explain or touch on the technical side of the sale such as operating machinery, maintenance, and ensuring durability. The current situation appears to start out with the buyer’s perception that the seller is dishonest. The buyer asks about the mileage being set back. The seller doesn’t really respond to that comment, but moves past it. I think if he would have made a joke out of it, or made a statement that they don’t practice dishonesty, the seller could have gained more trust. Second the seller appears to be assuming the needs of the buyer. The seller is leading with questions like, “Do you need that much room?” The customer says that they don’t, but is it possible that they do want something more spacious? It is possible. The seller seems to think that the buyer is only buying for gas mileage. The seller is overlooking a key selling point, the buyer is getting into a car pool with their boss. It is probable that the buyer would unconsciously want to buy a car that would make a statement to their boss.
In more familiar terms, bias is linked to being subjective rather than objectivity, having a closed mind rather than open mind, and relying on opinions rather than facts. Bias is something that happens in everyday life often; have you ever made a snap judgement of someone without knowing all the facts? If so you are guilt of being biased. Unlike these small day to day biases that occur, bias in court something that can destroy the credibility of our legal system.

There are some people who do try to sell products they truly believe are good, however, everyone has different tastes so not everyone will believe something is good. There are many more haulers now who are constantly lying about products that they don’t even know, use, or even enjoy, but try to sell them in order for money, exchanges, gifts, and rewards in return from these companies. Eventually people will find out that they are being told to just advertise and sell it to people, and eventually people on the other side will stop believing in the haulers and the consumerism world. It is up to you on how you want that relationship to be. Do you want to be a trustworthy businessmen or a lying businessman, because being a truthful businessman is not always easy. There will be times when business will be slow and you really need to make a sale, but it is important to remember that if you make bad business transactions, you will not only damage your reputation but also the company’s’. In my opinion it is smart to remain a truthful businessman because in the long run you will find more success than a lying salesman, because when it comes to being a lying salesman, you are only going to have immediate success which makes the future very risky. Everyone has biases even in a place where there should never be bias like for say a courtroom with a human beings life on the line. In the play “12 Angry Men” by Reginald Rose, 12 jurors argue about whether this kid killed his father or not, all of them say the boy is guilty except for one juror. This was a very interesting play the arguing, the suspense, the facts about the crime slowly unfolding and puzzle pieces coming together but what prompted the 11 of 12 men to insist without a doubt in their mind that the boy was guilty maybe it was the little facts and evidence given in the trial or maybe it was their own experiences and biases the lead them to that decision.

For example, people who believe that Asians are more creative and hardworking people then the rest of the world.
