“Poverty is a great enemy to human happiness; it certainly destroys liberty, and it make some virtues impracticable, and others extremely difficult” (Samuel Johnson). Poverty is something no one deserves. It is simple something that just happens based on a lifestyle. It is a issue that is ongoing and limits what people are able to do and the way their brain functions. Poverty has an effect more people mentally than physically, because kids performance change negatively in school, it leads to counseling, and brings on stress, as well as, depression.
According the organization Five Talents, “Poverty is an unmet need and unfulfilled longing. Poverty is lack of food, shelter, and everything good. Poverty is standing on the outside looking in. Poverty is illness without treatment. Poverty is pain in the stomach. Poverty is cruel. Poverty is pain. Poverty is life without life. Poverty marginalizes, poverty suffocates, and poverty kills.” Five Talents explains what poverty is and what it can actually do to you. They are trying to say that poverty is being the outcast.
