When playing out on the field every player needs to think about where they are going to go with the ball if it gets hit to them. Even if there is a weak hitter up to bat, outfielders still have to be ready for anything. Also, players need to know how many outs there are and what bases runners are on so that if the ball does get hit to them they know what to do. The same things apply on the offensive side of the ball too, hitting and baserunning. When a player is up to bat there they should be aware of how many outs there are, what bases runners are on, where the defense is playing, and even what pitches the pitcher throws. Then when one is on base almost the same things apply except for a few little things. Always pay attention when on a base, because the pitcher can pick a player off at any time when they are taking a lead. Another thing players need to pay attention to is when taking a lead they always have to watch for a defensive player coming up behind them so they know to take a shorter lead and be careful of getting picked off the base. There aren't as many spots needed in baseball which makes it a little more easier and isn't time consuming such as wrestling is. Baseball is more like holding a pitch right and with the correct fluent arm motion. When wrestling is more like shooting a sweeping single and swiping the other leg out placing them on their back or stomach. Batting takes time to learn and lot of it. Its confusing if they drop their elbow on their swing and attack the ball with their hands it will take many reps to fix it. Baseball is where players get a rude awakening. In my life I have played baseball with more people, played in more states, and played on more fields than there are minutes in a day. That’s a lot of baseball. This sport means more than just playing a game. Throughout this sport I have had to perform in tough situations and I have had to come up clutch in key situations. I have had to pick everyone’s head up and become the leader when we needed it and more than anything I have had to watch my team and self fail. This sport makes you learn key life skills such as teamwork, failure and success, confidence, performing in clutch situation, and most of all taught me to always keep my head up.
