Willie Mays once said “In order to excel, you must be completely dedicated to your chosen sport. You must also be prepared to work hard and be willing to accept constructive criticism. Without one-hundred percent dedication, you won't be able to do this” In order to succeed it’s required to put everything on the line to survive in the world of sports. Without devoting to sports there is no correct path to success. Nobody will be on the level of competition. Dedication also comes into play where people will need to be better in other areas. Technique is another must have to be involved with sports. If its not possible to do something right then try over and over until it is. Speed is needed to be able to get place to place or to shoot a swift shot. Working out lower body will help with strength which comes back to dedication. Therefore, everything comes back to each other and helps be better, faster, harder, and stronger.
Dedication is arguably the most important thing to have when playing

sports such as wrestling and baseball. Dedication is taking everything an individual has and devoting it to becoming the best player possible and bringing everything to the max level. It takes many many years to be a decent wrestler. It’s nothing similar to other sports where it's possible can just have the athletic ability to be successful. Got to strive to get on the level of competition. Most wrestlers wrestle from kindergarten up and are insanely talented. However wrestlers tend to give the sport their all 24/7 attention. A true dedicated wrestler will never give up as the sport grasps his heart. However baseball is more of a sport where people can get away with having the talent, however without hitting the gym the talent won't help for long. Eventually when levels get high they will make people do things their way. Thats when a player finds out if they are truly dedicated. Going home every night and practicing, training. To create muscle memory such as pitching and driving their elbow through, first step in center field when the balls hit, or a player’s batting stance when they learn a new stance. But, all sports will require dedication in order to succeed and it takes time and practice to overcome all obstacles. Although technique comes into play and changes everything. Technique is something a player can do so many times to create muscle memory. Once it becomes muscle memory they will perform it smoothly to make whatever it is perfect. Or so however they were doing it over and over for the muscle memory. Technique is needed greatly in the average wrestler. It takes much time develop, but it really does pay off greatly in the long run. Wrestling however is probably the most technique needing out of every sport. Most people think that when one man walking on the mat with huge arms and quads there going to win. Although that’s not the case because technique can beat power easily. Its different if nobody has technique and their just having a muscle battle though. However technique can take power any day, but for those who have both don't lose often. Baseball doesn't require as much technique, but it is still pretty important.
There aren't as many spots needed in baseball which makes it a little more easier and isn't time consuming such as wrestling is. Baseball is more like holding a pitch right and with the correct fluent arm motion. When wrestling is more like shooting a sweeping single and swiping the other leg out placing them on their back or stomach. Batting takes time to learn and lot of it. Its confusing if they drop their elbow on their swing and attack the ball with their hands it will take many reps to fix it. Baseball is where players get a rude awakening. No matter how amazing athletes are or think they are they always have bad technique somewhere. More than likely players will grow up playing that way. Although once they get a little higher it hits them, and it hits them hard. All those bad reps come and hit people by surprise when they got to restart from the beginning.
. Speed in baseball can help athletes in many many ways. It can help in many situations as well. Weather its getting around the bases to score all the way to catching that long fly ball. However not everybody has speed to their convenience. This could also relate to pitching because pitchers can use speed to their advantage. All they gotta do is change speed and ball rotation to confuse their batter into swinging to strike out. Awareness could be linked to speed as well. When getting a lead depending on speed and awareness (reflexes) to get the correct distance from the base. Once the pitcher decides to pick off the runner can either be slow or incredibly fast with their reflexes. It might take a second to analyze the situation and hurl their body back to the base. But, without being able to comprehend this situation fast you cannot get safe though rather more than likely out. Reflexes and speed are highly important when it comes to wrestling. Its your whole defense! When someone shoots a double leg you gotta be fast and sprawl and avoid getting taken down or slammed. Most wrestlers develop better reflexes over time. When they shoot it should be an instinct to sprawl cross face and spin. Or just simple an over hook and under hook and drop them on their head. It can also help with a takedown to score and win. With speed anything is possible you can shoot so fast and take them down before their reflexes even tell them to sprawl. Putting everything on the line is the first step to leading to success. Dedication is arguably the most important thing to have when playing sports such as wrestling and baseball. It is very hard to commit to something so big. If you do the up side will be worth your while. In order to survive in the world of sports you need to put everything on the line.
With about 83 players currently to in the MLB, 682 players since 1950, and so far 2 players in the Hall of Fame with much more to get inducted, it’s clear that the Dominican Republic dominates the game of baseball. In the Dominican Republic, baseball is the country’s pastime and official sport. Baseball doesn’t discriminate, regardless of gender, race, and economic status. In my personal view, baseball runs in the blood and embedded in the genetic coding of Dominicans. As a person whose mother and father are Dominican and born and raised in Miami, there seems to be little to nothing that connects me to their culture. Nonetheless, this Miami-born Dominican- American is proud to say that the sport I love the most can connect me to the Dominican
Baseball is not a difficult game to comprehend, but it can a very long time to achieve a high level of performance. Usually one starts playing this game at a very young age and the first thing they start out with is throwing. Throwing a baseball involves exploiting all major muscle groups in the body to generate a large torque on the arm that will in turn create a high potential for speed when it is released.
Football fans can start to understand that football is not easier than baseball. All the long season, all the steps to get to the big league is way much difficult than football .Football is a more physical sport for the short-term but in the long run, baseball shows to be more physically demanding, which brings the mental side with
Baseball is fast-paced, intense, and requires coordination and skill, that is why it is the best sport to watch, play, or follow. Baseball isn’t a timed game; It is unpredictable and you never can guess what will happen next. This gives you a feeling of intensity and adrenaline. Another plus is that Baseball focuses on all skills. It focuses on Speed, Arm Strength, Power, Agility, Aim, Coordination, Timing, and Knowledge of the game. Also, another reason why baseball is the best sport is because while playing baseball you are less likely to
Baseball is known as America’s national pastime, and has been played for over 100 years. Baseball can be a lot of fun, but is also extremely challenging to play, especially trying to hit a 90 mile per hour fastball. I am a very devoted baseball player myself, and over the years I have learned numerous key things about the game. Baseball does not only require physical strength to hit and throw the ball, but it also requires a great mindset, such as, mental preparedness, concentration, and a positive attitude.
To the track! To the wall! It is gone and the crowd goes wild! This is the sound of a professional baseball player hitting a homerun. Many people love the sport of baseball but most of them do not know what it actually takes to be a player. Throughout the year a professional baseball player is constantly involved with aspects of the sport. Being able to maintain this takes a numerous amount of dedication from the players. Loss of sleep, sacrifice of time, and being able to constantly travel shows how much dedication a professional baseball player has.
Baseball is one of the hardest sports to play. Baseball, unlike every other sport, does not have a certain location to bring the ball to or a goal to put the ball in. The team, not only one player, has to work together to win every single game. On average every player has an at-bat three
In today’s society, hard work seems to be forgotten, or merely just unrealistic. Whether it be in the work field or athletics, many get things simply handed to them. As I begin my final journey and the final four years of my softball career, I look back and reminisce on all the obstacles I have had to overcome throughout my softball journey. I know what it is like to work hard for something you have always dreamt of, but others told you that you would never be able to accomplish it, what it is like to put in work for something you love, without knowing if it will pay off.
An amateur was a person who enjoyed playing while a professional was paid to be good at the sport. Amateurism was significant because it maintained the dignity and morality of the recreation or play because people were playing to play and not to make money. College football maintained a serious amateur definition while baseball turned to the world of professionalism. Players were not playing the sport, but they were going to work every time they had a game or practice. It was no longer pure, but for any sport that became professional related back to the importance for teams to seek out the players with the best prowess. This only confirms that as the recreation turned into a sport and the sport turned into a business, people associated with
Many people don't understand the point in playing baseball. Why would someone swing a stick, hit a ball, and try to get back to where they started before the ball returns? What pleasure is there in that? Why not participate in a sport like wrestling or track where there is an obvious level of individual improvement and therefore pleasure. Well, I play baseball because of the love I have for the sport, and because of the feeling that overwhelms me every time I walk onto a baseball field. When I walk onto a field I am given the desire to better myself not only as an athlete, but also as a person. The thoughts and feelings I get drive me to work hard towards my goals and to be a better person. The most relevant example of these feelings is when I stepped on the field at Runyon Complex in Pueblo, Colorado during our high school state playoffs in 2003. This baseball field will always be an important place to me.
"Lady, I'm not an athlete. I'm a professional baseball player" (John Kruk). Saying that baseball takes no athleticism is like saying Michael Jordan was bad at basketball, it is false. For example, have you ever seen Addison Russell, the Chicago Cubs shortstop, lay out for a ground ball and capture it, then bounce up from the ground and make a ridiculous throw to first? Making a play like that takes athleticism from another world, Addison needed to possess the hand eye coordination to snag the ball while parallel to the turf and he had to get up and make an acrobatic throw to first. Incredible. Not only does it take this kind of athleticism to make top ten plays, but even on the routine ground ball. Even though people might say baseball is
The american dream is defined as the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. In baseball, the same ideals can be seen. While it has its flaws, baseball gives every player an equal chance to be successful within the game. It would be impossible to look at this great game, without thinking about the american dream.
To be a pro-athlete takes work, but how much work? Is it Brain or is it bulk that will make you be successful in sports? The stories “What could Be Better than a Touchdown, by Kelefa Sanneh, and “why we run”, by Bernd Heinrich, both compare athleticism to dealing with your mind, or in other words they both convey the idea that Mental Strength is much more important than agility. In fact, Agility and Physical Prowess are almost nothing compared to Mental Strength.
The process of becoming a great baseball player takes talent, hard work, and a ton of practice. Baseball, being the second hardest sport in the world is a hard sport to stay discipline at. As a player, he must make sure he works at all the drills everyday, boring or not. Also, he must have the mental mind set that he definitely wants to make it to the big leagues, if he doesn’t, then its ...
