Most kids have jobs in the summer. Some even have them during the school year but for them to go home and study and do home homework is very unlikely. By the time students get home from school all day then going to work do they really want to go and do school work? This makes a lot of the grades go down from 9th through 12th grade. As Matthew Lynch once said, “Trying to work and maintain a job alongside classes can have a negative impact on grades according to most research and most employers cannot accommodate students who are only available two or three week spans at a time.” This is a very difficult thing to deal with. The scheduling is hard thing to match with when it comes to young adults.
Students would have no down time to themselves to relax if they had to go to school all year long. Even if they do get a two week break after having school for four weeks they would still get a ton of homework that students would have to do over that so called “break”. After coming back from that time off they would spend at least one or two days reviewing where they had left off from. Jobs will no just let children pick their hours. Where in the summer it is easy to work and be able to not have to worry about having homework to do after getting out of work. Planning a family vacation is easy people don’t have to take off school and get all of their homework ahead of time like they would have to do in the middle of summer. Sporting events are after school to where students can just go after classes. While during the off weeks they would have to find ways to practice and back from them which can be difficult for many
