As every second of your life is going by, history is in the making. Time is always moving for everyone, whether someone's researching for a project with a time constraint, or just walking through the groceries aisle to look for dinner. People are always experimenting, and climbing steps to achieve advancements in every field. The past is not to be forgotten about, but rather to be observed to create the future. As Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, who had recently passed away at 87 on July 2nd this year, writes, "You'll try to incite people to learn from the past and rebel, but they will refuse to believe you. Everyone has a certain history that goes up to his/her own generation. Nothing is created in the moment, and everything that exists today must have changed over time into something more. You must be well-informed of the past to understand the future, or else the same mistakes will be made and humans will have no new approaches to situations that were handled in the past. For example, civilizations in Europe had fallen to the Mongols, which made use of their strong leaders and ruthless determination to have been able to be so terrorizing. We can learn that we must be proactive if we want to succeed; the Mongols started from just a small part of Asia before their reign of terror. Their tenacity led to great expansion, which created a strong empire out of the ruins of others. Business leaders, for example, can learn from the Mongols in that they can expand and try new things to have many possibilities, instead of accepting mediocrity and stay sedentary.
