Abortion should be illegal. Unborn children are being deprived of one of their most basic right, the right to life. Babies all around the world are being killed and lack voice for life or death. The savagery of abortion killed 1.2 million babies in 2016. This genocide must be stopped.
There are 4 different types of abortion. The first type is suction-type of abortion. Where the unborn child is sucked up from the mother's womb during the early stages of pregnancy. The second type of abortion is curette-type abortion is where the child is cut from the mother's womb with a spoon-like object. A third type is when a mother has a C-section. Women who have an abortion may have mental problems after having an abortion according to a 2002 peer-reviewed study published by the Southern Medical Journal found of more than 173,000 American women who had an abortion were 154% more likely to commit suicide than other women who did not have an abortion. “Women who have abortions are also at a higher risk of breast cancer” (Yubei Huang). Women and babies are not the only victims of the abortion industry, men are hurt too. According to the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, a study of men whose partners had abortions found 51.6% of the men reported regret, 45.2% felt sadness, and 25.8% experienced depression (Priscilla Coleman and Eileen S. Nelson).
In the Bible there are many examples of why abortion is not right. In Jeremiah 1:5 God says that he or she is recognized by God before they are conceived. Then the Sixth Commandment says “Thou shalt not kill”. Luke 1:36, 41 says that Elisabeth conceived a "son" and that the "baby" leaped in her womb. God does not say that a "fetus" leaped in her womb! Some people deny the baby in the womb is not a person; but the dictionary definition given in Webster's Dictionary of the word ‘person’ is “an individual of distinction or importance” or “a member of the human race”. Yes, even a fetus has a unique genetic code that will make it a distinctive person in the human race.
