During the academic years, we learn the basic sciences, and we also learn that most of our knowledge, as they might change, need to be updated via reading and being involved in research. At this point of my professional development, I am desiring a PhD program that concentrates on research in rehabilitation sciences, mainly for two reasons.
My first goal from pursuing a PhD degree is that I want to have the ability to conduct primary research independently as much as I can. From a personal prospective, a successful researcher should be able to conduct research regardless of the available resources. If a researcher was trained to do so, he or she will contribute in changing the world with their research no matter where they work. The reason I am enthusiastic about research is that I want to be a part of a healthy community and I want to find solutions for those who are suffering from pain. My primary research interest is in low back pain, mainly preventative and rehabilitation techniques. I am particularly interested in understanding the

program is to earn the knowledge and proficiencies that are required to be a leader within the field of rehabilitation science teaching. In fact, I appreciate that your program provides the students the opportunity to teach in the areas of expertise, which is a great element interested me in your program. My short-term goal is to develop more teaching skills and my ultimate goal is to become an informative professor in this area. I am devoted to improve my teaching skills and for that motive I took two workshops related to higher education since I came back to Saudi Arabia; university teaching and learning strategies, and skills of teaching large classrooms. My personal perspective is: it is more valuable to treat thousands of patients indirectly via providing an excellent, evidence based education to the future health care professionals instead of treating one patient by
With regards to my academic and professional development, I am desiring a Ph.D. program that combines research and teaching skills in rehabilitation sciences, which is one aspect that attracted me to the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Rehabilitation Science Ph.D. program. Generally, your program’s objectives align well with the curriculum I am looking for in a terminal degree. In specific, I have three main goals for completing this degree. First, I want to have the ability to conduct research independently as much as possible. From a personal prospective, a successful researcher should be able to process a research regardless of the available resources. If a researcher was trained to do so, he or she will contribute in changing the world with their research no matter where they end up at. The reason I am enthusiastic about research is that I want to be a part of a healthy community and I want to
A major hurdle in this academic career that I hope to have is going to be the lack of expertise in the designing, implementation and evaluation of clinical trials.
Overall, participating in this observation-based course helped me develop better communication skills while also learning how rehabilitation affects the human body. I also received more insightful knowledge about the overall demands of this
While being able to financially support myself one day still motivated me, I began to appreciate the importance of physical independence as well. I never want to be physically limited and unable to do the things that make me happy, such as snowboarding or kayaking, and I also want to remain independent into old age. This reinforced my desire to pursue physical therapy because I want the opportunity to help others achieve this same kind of freedom that will improve their quality of life. A student and professional must be invested in the patients and be able to empathize with them. Having these abilities will contribute to creating more effective treatment plans and achieving better treatment
Throwing back a few years ago when I first decided to be an observer in a rehabilitation setting, I thought that physical therapy was nothing but magical which could change a disabled person who was unable to walk normally to a healthy walking person after a period of therapy. I used to believe that physical therapy can cure mostly all type of injuries and ailments. However, later on, I realized that it does not work that way. Remembering in a particular case, there is a patient who suffered the hemorrhagic stroke; she had to use the wheelchair all the time, her right hand is completely numb and she is not able to talk normally. After several months of arduous exercises with assisting of 2 physical therapists, she showed just a little of improvement in mobility and functioning. That patient could move in longer range compared to the first month, yet she was not able to bear weight without assistance. That case was significantly influenced my vision in this field. As a physical therapy student, the realistic expectation is critical. That student must be knowledgeable about what they can and can’t do and the limitation of this practice. Furthermore, another aspect of reality is understanding the own strength and weakness in a context of being a PT student. Being so overestimated about own abilities is a major
I am excited to gain an abundant amount of knowledge and will diligently study and comprehend all reasons behind the methods. For now, I plan on learning and perfecting my care techniques during my time in graduate school. Through my studies and eventually as a licensed physical therapist, I will uphold the physical therapy vision statement, the values of the profession, and put forth my top efforts in everything that I do. By putting on my white coat and setting foot in my future settings, I will allow these aforementioned values to guide my practice and ensure that I am delivering the best care
I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.

I decided to pursue an MBA degree in order to further my managerial career in the company I work for. The question would be: Why do I think it will enhance my management career? The answer to that question requires short background information.
I am Fasiha Abdul Rehman, holding a professional degree of Doctor of Pharmacy at 23 years of age; with a deeper interest in contributing to the understanding of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and unveiling new information for medical advancement and betterment of mankind and I envisage Masters as crucial step in this direction.
The internship that I acquired during the summer of 2010 at the Greenwood Sports and Industrial Rehabilitation Center (GSIRC), allowed me to gain an immeasurable amount of experience during my tenure at this facility. Within this period, the exposure to new concepts within the physical therapy industry allowed me to observe and work hands on with patients of all ages and disabilities that exposed me to various treatment plans and programs to restore client’s mobility. The essential Physical Education and Exercise Science (PEES) courses taken at Lander University were beneficial to my academic knowledgebase, which prepared me and developed me for the opportunity within the physical therapy discipline. Working as an intern taught me the responsibility of time management and working within a lean schedule that allow me to further develop my skill set. This reflection paper will illustrate my classroom experience, internship experience, and learning experience.
My first research advisor told me that a personal investment in research makes for stronger work and can lead to invaluable motivation and insight. My chosen field of study, cognitive neuroscience, specifically memory systems, is the result of my past experience. Since childhood, a close family member has suffered from epilepsy, with seizures focalized in the hippocampus. When I was in middle school, he underwent a surgical procedure to remove his hippocampus. The surgery was successful in stopping seizures, though there were lasting cognitive effects: memory impairments still linger, a decade later.
Many reasons convinced me to pursue a graduate level degree in social work. First the standard of education has greatly increased in the field of social work, especially regarding social work in the healthcare field. The majority of jobs in healthcare require a graduate degree, especially in my town of Kamloops, British Columbia. I hope to do case management in healthcare and most of my colleagues stated I most likely wouldn’t be a candidate for this position if I do not have a graduate level education. Furthermore, I have invested my time in a career I hope to continue for the rest of my life and this being said I want to have options and flexibility of opportunities in the field of social work. Considering social services offers such a vast array of services, it’s in my best interest to allow myself the most exposure to opportunity and earning a graduate level degree will allow this to occur.
I am applying to further my education in the Social Sciences as I see this field as one of the most important and interesting available. My interest in the Social Sciences began in my early Secondary Education, after being exposed to the individual subjects for the first time. I quickly realised that these subjects were the ones that I enjoyed the most, and rather conveniently were the subjects I was also most successful at. It was at this stage, late into S2, that I had already decided that this is what I wanted to study, then and in the future. Ever since, I have aimed my subject choices towards being the most qualified I could be to do further study at University and gain a better understanding.
Completing my undergraduate degree and being the first in my family to ever attend a
