I am applying with great enthusiasm for the Research Assistant/Engineer position as advertised in the SRI website.
I am passionate to work in the biomedical imaging and its applications in a research laboratory. My motivation in research stems from the delight to contribute towards innovations to progress science in healthcare. I am a Radiology technologist (BSc, India) and completed an MSc in Medical Imaging (UK). After MSc, I worked as an applications specialist in Ultrasound for Hitachi Aloka Medical ltd. Julien Cohen-Adad in a conference, he gave an opportunity with a possible PhD. Notably, after 6yrs of non-academic career, I quickly learnt Python, Shell scripting for image processing and literature review. In addition, I attended Advanced Medical Imaging course and scored grade A. Dr. Julien felt that I might take longer time in a development oriented Engineering research for a PhD, so he suggested me to find a suitable opportunity.
However, it was a wonderful opportunity to learn my strength and weakness for a research career, indeed my motivation in a research career has increased significantly. I learned the importance and to initiate, collaborate, contribute publications and participate actively to learn in a research environment. I strongly believe, I will learn the skills out of my enthusiasm and dedication.
This splendid opportunity at SRI matches my interest; to work, learn, and contribute to research. Importantly, to work with multi modalities inspires me a lot. In addition, I am curious to work on diagnostic Ultrasound and combined MRI for imaging and therapeutic applications. I will certainly take initiatives to strengthen the required skills towards these contributions. The learning from the greatest minds at FUS SRI will further motivate to learn and towards research
