Why I Volunteer At My High School Career

In many cases, activities that have been done for long periods of time would often be considered most involved by individuals. However, even though the majority of my time over the past couple of years has been dedicated to the same activities, I believe the activity that I just began participating in this summer was the one that I was most involved in. During my time volunteering at my local hospital this summer, I have completed 135 hours of service and completed a variety of tasks within the hospital. Because of the knowledge I’ve taken away from this experience and the time I’ve put into volunteering, I believe that this was the most meaningful activity I have done in my high school career, as well as the most involved. Being apart of the volunteer program really made me feel fulfilled; I felt like I was improving and impacting the lives of others, which really brought me joy. Volunteering has allowed me to establish new bonds with people while making an impact in the community and giving me a new sense of responsibility and independence. Making an impact in the community and giving back is something that I am passionate about, so having that opportunity and actually spending a decent amount of time doing it means the world to me. The experience has taught me quite a few lessons about how to become an overall better individual, such as how to properly communicate with others. There is no question about it in my mind that volunteering at my local hospital has been one of the most enjoyable and educational activities I participated in during high school. Volunteering has given me a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment as I witnessed many situations that shaped my perspective on life through encountering people and lessons about life that I would not have found
