Why Guns Should Be Banned Research Paper

In her article, “Second thoughts on the Second Amendment”, Wendy Kaminer states that there are roughly 200 million firearms in circulation(Kaminer).

Whether or not firearms should be banned is a highly discussed topic among many people from all over the country.

The U.S. must deal with gun-related crime everyday. The founding fathers were never opposed to regulating guns(Cornell). Gun regulation is not focused on any particular state.

Guns laws are an important topic because many people have different perspectives on this topic.

The history of the right to bear arms, whether it should be removed from the constitution or not, is very controversial.

Guns are neither good nor bad. They are just tools.

On the other hand, some people believe that banning guns would actually help America.

The people who think guns should be banned think this because they want their children to live in a world where they don’t have to worry about being shot on the street.

The number of deaths would decrease drastically if guns were banned.

If guns were banned, there would no longer be gun related crimes and there would be a substantial decrease in firearm related deaths.

Some people however, feel that taking away guns would not do anything.
