On a hot Saturday afternoon my team had our first football game. Unfortunately I wasn’t starting this game and I was determined to retrieve my position. It was a hot day so most of the players that were in were extremely exhausted. The coach figured the player who was in my position was tired, so he subbed me in for him. At that moment, I was determined to prove to him that I deserved to start in that position. On the first play, as soon as the ball snapped, I struck off the line of scrimmage as fast as I could to tackle the running back. I hit him so hard that I forced him to fumble. From the momentum of that play our defense dominated their offense. After the game, the coach finally gave me back my starting position. By being determined and anxious I got what I wanted …show more content…
Playing football helps me relieve aggression and reduces stress. If I didn’t play football, I probably wouldn’t be as disciplined as I would without it. To be a football player you must follow direct orders and always pay attention. Without disciplined you may play awfully because of the lack of organization you would bring the team.Theteam. The discipline that I learned from football helps me a lot in school. I’m always prepared for class and always on time because of the discipline that football has taught me. Football has helped me be a team player and a determined individual. What I learned from football is to be consistent with the things I have to do. In order to be a good football player you have to work hard at every single play. Every day after school I give my all at practice. To be the best, our team must go through long hot practices. We practice hard even when our bodies ache from the previous practices and games. If you don’t work hard you will immediately be benched because there will be another player who can do your job
The benefits of playing competitive sports include self-discipline, control, and confidence. Also not doing drugs, alcohol, and sexual activity. Students who are intensely involved in sports are less likely to abuse drugs or alcohol or join gangs, have a later onset of sexual activity, and do better in school and form good peer relationships. Parents have a

Football taught me many valuable life lessons. It taught me to respect everyone, I have to work hard to get the things I want because they won’t be handed to me, when I get knocked down get back up and don’t dwan on what happened but learn from it and fix it. It drove me to work hard, get good grades for school and do what I am told without questioning
For example it will increase your exercise time, build comradery between yourself and your peers, build teamwork, and it is just a fun thing to partake in. Football offers many rewards both long term and immediate that easily worth the small danger (Silverman). In the sport you must work as a team but have individual motivation that will translate into a good work ethics that can and will follow you for the rest of your life (Silverman). Some people may argue that football should be outlawed because of its dangerousness, but the positives outweigh the negatives. Football is not like a drug that will take life away from you. It is an activity that has dangers but has greater
This type of question might seem shocking for an American, but for a girl who was born and raised in Central America, questions like these are valid. Back on high school days everyone in my country played and cheered for a sport that has the same name but it is played with an actual “foot”. In America this sport is known as soccer. When I came here I was invited to “football” games, which I expected it to be just like it was back home. It comes to the reason that Football for Americans is totally different from the sport I was used to.
I have constantly loved soccer since the day I began playing in California for my youth soccer group.I had never followed it much and just knew how to play until I moved to India. In America soccer is not that prevalent a game compared to Baseball and American Football however around the globe it is the most famous game on the planet. I have always played football however I had never followed it until I was 14 and that touched off an enthusiasm in me like nothing else.
Once again, after a successful season, Shadle Park was defeated by a Big 9 school in the first game of the regional tournament. This reoccurring event has led many to believe that the four year football program puts GSL students at a disadvantage compared to other districts. A junior high school football program would not only increase the competitiveness of the students but also have more important consequences.
Another reason football should be played is to build leadership. Out of every football team will rise leaders. Those gifted with the ability to exhort, motivate and inspire often shine in the context of football. It is no surprise, then, that nine of the most recent American presidents either played or supported college football. Some want to win more; others will not abide laziness or bad attitudes. Whatever the motivation, leadership skills are developed in a football
When someone asks you “hey, what is important to you?” you can’t instantly give them an answer; it takes more thought than that. It really makes you think, but then it hit me: soccer is what is most important to me. Soccer relieves my anger if you are mad you express your anger that can be proactive or reactive. You should do want I do which is to change the anger into a positive motive or into plan energy. It helped my reaction time, as well as helping me understand the importance of teamwork.
To me, football is by far the best sport in America and ever. Some people might argue about that but I don’t care it’s my opinion. I love the competitiveness of the game. Once you start playing it you wouldn’t want to stop. I’ve played since I was 4 years old for Juniata. I’ve played for 13 years which is a long time playing football. Football is very fun to me and I enjoy it a lot. Once you put them pads on you feel unstoppable, like nothing can get in your way no matter what. My family is a football family which means they all like football and even played it so I basically was born to play. It can be challenging though once you get in high school and college. You got to work hard on and off the field, have to workout a lot to stay in shape
A game of football is like life. Football is a very aggressive sport, it can be dangerous at times due to all the tackling, and slamming of bodies on the field. Life can also be dangerous because of all the different obstacles people face everyday and bad things they have to go through. There are many different ways that football and life compare, they have many similarities some in which outweighs their differences. In football there are many things going on, there are goals that need to be scored, there are players that need to block for their teammates, there are also players that need to tackle the other team because they have the ball. In life, there are also goals that have to be set, there are things in life that need to be blocked, and there are also many obstacles in life that need to be tackled. That is just three of the many similarities that life and football share.
My essay is about football. My essay will tell you about the history of football as well as some facts. There are several things that I have learned from my research that I think several of you might not know about the sport. Hopefully you will learn something new today about football.
One reason why football is an amazing hobby is because it’s a fun sport. An example of this would be, last night I asked my brother if he wanted to play football with the family because I enjoy it. Watching football is really play but it is better. Playing football is dangerous it's worth getting hurt because it’s fun. Football is a great experience. It teaches you how to become a man and it teaches you how to gain discipline. Yes it’s a lot of at running but the end it is all worth it. When the games are being played, you realize how fun it is. When you’re on the field and you catch the ball, you feel like you can fly. Football is not only awesome, it’s INCREDIBLE! Football can make everyone’s day. Whether you’re having a bad day or not, it’ll make your entire day.
Football can teach you teamwork and gives you a healthy lifestyle. In football, it's a team sport you have to trust your teammate that he will get the play correct. It gives you a healthy lifestyle because you exercise and run.
The game of football is an essential determining factor that turns boys into men, and every boy at some point should learn to play the game. Not for the game itself, but for the things it teaches about working hard to achieve a goal and how to find another way to reach that goal if failure ensues the first try. The fundamentals of football were drilled into me as a three year old, along with tremendous off season workouts and being able to coach little league football and passing down my knowledge to others, are the key factors that lead to my breakout season and being one of the best players on the team.
