Always make the best out of anything life throws at you. I am a very hard working, outgoing, and determined person. In my opinion the things we do and the people we surround ourselves with in life determines who we are as a person, the saying goes birds of a feather flock together. The activities I am involved in reflect who i am as a person. One of the things in life that is most important to me is football. I have played for four years and it is an activity that brings me comfort and peace at mind. I believe this defines me as a person because football is a contact sport, with that being said you have to be resilient, hard working, and determined to play. I believe these traits translate over to my worth ethics in the real world. In my opinion Life is just like a football game, there is always going to be bumps in the road but one must be able to get knocked down and get right back up. Football has also helped me and countless others build leadership and cooperation skills. It is a team sport and you will not have success unless you play as a team and this teaches skills that are transferable to the real world. …show more content…
Currently i work as a physical therapist aid/assistant at results physical therapy clinic. I know that making money is important in life but it really isnt all its cracked up to be if you are not doing what you love and i can honetsly say i love physical therapy. My interest In physical therapy began my sophomore year when i had suffered an ankle sprain and i had to go through physical rehab to rebuild strength and muscle function in my ankle. After going through rehabilitation i realized that i want to help alleviate and reduce pain in others. As a student athlete i recognize how hard it can be to overcome injuries so my current goal is to help others overcome their injuries. My main long term goal is to become a physical therapist after i graduate from
Football has been a big part of my life ever since I was a little kid. I almost always tried to play football when I could with my brothers if they weren’t busy messing around. During recess in grade school my class would try to start a football game and I would be the first in to be picked on a team. My first time being on a “football team” was in little league my third grade year and I’ve never missed a year yet now that I am a senior in highschool and I’m hoping to continue it in college. Football made the person who I am today, it changed me in many ways and affected how I am as a person.
-Kids may love football, but they may not want to play when they get older.Football can build up confidence.A boy may love to sing but is shy football can bring out that shyness.Kids are to relaxed these days, they are
After my high school career, I knew that I could not stay involved in sports because of all of the injuries I have experienced, so I decided I wanted a job that is behind the scenes but still rooted in athletics. What excites me the most about my field of work is that the workday is never the same. You are going to want to give up, you are going to get impatient, but it is vital that you listen to what you are told. The old saying, “Minor setback, major comeback” is very relevant to the patients going through any kind of injury.
Now that you have a better understanding about Athletic training, I will explain about physical therapy and why I would like have as a lifetime career. In an article I read, the author Sue Klappa said that, “PT’s reach into our communities through engagement and social responsibility. It compels us to bring hope and love to others. It urges us to learn to see things differently. It holds the promise of defining moments, as we take the time to see things in a new light” (Klappa 2). Klappa is a physical therapist that traveled the world to help others and when she went to different countries. She learned how important physical therapist are in the medical field and how she can get others attention. Starting a career path in physical therapy can
I chose the path to physical therapy because I love helping people, and it seems very interesting to me. Being involved in sports and exercise almost my entire life, I can easily relate to the treatments/therapy athletes go through when injured. Now I would like to see what it’s like through the eyes of the caregiver. I plan to pursue PT graduate school after WCU and then eventually have my own PT office, or work in a clinical setting.
I stated earlier the one thing I was certain about what I wanted in my career choice was to be able to help people in some sort of way. Being a physical therapist would allow me to do exactly
but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it. Sports medicine involves athletes who are constantly training to be in the best physical shape they can be in. It involves athletes with rehabilitation and supplements that they can take to help either recover faster or to help them perform better on their playing field. A lot of high caliber athletes such as olympians are involved in sports medicine, because it is able to get you back into your sport, faster and with less likelihood of re-injury.
From a young age I was interested in the medical field. As I became more exposed to the various options, I decided physical therapy was the right career for me. My experience has proved the field to be interesting and fun. I enjoy working with people and the versatility of therapy. There are many areas to specialize in and I look forward to learning which one is right for me. At the moment I am interested in pediatric acute care but I am also interested in sports and orthopedics. As I continue my studies, I look forward to learning about the different fields in which physical therapy will take me. My future views may change which physical therapy field I wish to pursue, but right now I look forward to learning as much as I can about physical therapy and helping others.
The career I have chose is Physical Therapy(PT). Physical Therapist do many different things, but their main function is to help impaired or physically disabled people enhance their movement and handle their pain. Physical Therapist are a main source in the rehabilitation, medical care and prevention of people with long lasting illnesses or damage. The reason I chose this career is because I love helping people and enjoy seeing people be motivated and succeed at their task. To help someone gain full strength in their limbs or maybe even learn how to walk again is my lifelong dream. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career
Football makes families and friends more ambitious. Lastly, when kids play football with their brothers and sisters they are determined to fight for the gold, and win that game.
“According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for physical therapists is expected to spike upward by an astonishing 34% between 2014 and 2024—a much quicker rate than average” (APTA). Also being a physical therapist leads to a more happy life and it is not as stressful as other jobs. After helping others you feel a relief and a satisfaction to what you are doing. Unlike being a police officer or someone that has a more stressful job, being a physical therapist is more of a laid back job and you will not be as stressed out at the end of the day. In my future I want to have a job where I can wake up in the morning and not think, “oh I have to go to work today.” I want to be able to have a good time at my job and come home happy knowing that I have helped people and not be so stressed
From the early ages in history to the present day, sports have always been an important part of society. It teaches discipline, how to be a team player, how to interact with others and is a good source of physical activity. In specific, football utilizes all of these aspects of sports and it’s a great source of teaching self-restraint and perseverance. Some may say that football is a violent sport or it’s not beneficial in any way, but in reality it gives a person the basic tools needed not only for playing the game, but also how you interact with people in society.
The career route I am interested in pursuing is Therapeutic Exercise / Physical Therapy. I plan on becoming a physical therapist after I successfully graduate CSUN with my bachelors degree in Kinesiology. A physical therapist’s job is to improve, sustain, and restore people’s maximum movement and functional ability. They also relieve pain and prevent permanent physical disabilities in their clients.
American Football is not merely a sport, its a culture. In the south football is in some ways a lifestyle. From the rivalries to the championships its truly one of the most exciting sports to have ever been created. This is why I love it so much, it is much more than just a game it has a much deeper meaning to it. From the outside looking in, many people do not fully realize the impact it has on each and every player throughout its history. Football has made me who I am today.
The game of football is an essential determining factor that turns boys into men, and every boy at some point should learn to play the game. Not for the game itself, but for the things it teaches about working hard to achieve a goal and how to find another way to reach that goal if failure ensues the first try. The fundamentals of football were drilled into me as a three year old, along with tremendous off season workouts and being able to coach little league football and passing down my knowledge to others, are the key factors that lead to my breakout season and being one of the best players on the team.
