Of the many websites, many professors today will tell their students not to utilize Wikipedia as their source. Students are being advised to be cautious of utilizing Wikipedia as a source for information because they “may be reading information that is outdated or that has been posted by someone who is not an expert in the field or by someone who wishes to provide misinformation” (“Harvard Guide to Using Sources,” 2016). Not all information on Wikipedia is inaccurate but since “experts do not review the site's entries, there is a considerable risk in relying on this source…” (“Harvard Guide to Using Sources,” 2016). This opens up the Internet to exploitations and gives people the reason to be very cautious when using Wikipedia and other related websites because anyone can change online data and input false information at any time.
