Why don’t more people embrace the teachings of Buddhism in the world? Though all religions have their own uniqueness, questions and uncertainties, Buddhism is fascinating and makes the most sense. I have seen different religions change people; however, some of the most positive changes I have seen from a person’s transformation are when they embrace Buddhism. People who embrace Buddhism become nonviolent, they are not extremists about politics and they care for everyone and everything (to an extent). I admire the Buddhist religion overall, and I have the more questions about it than any other religion. Who created it, who and what experiences inspired the enlightened way of living and that positive outlook on life? I admire that there are people in the world such as Buddhists that want to take only what is necessary and avoid harm unto others, the planet, and the ecosystem. The peaceful aura of humans that embrace Buddha can, and should be, embraced by everyone collectively. An even bigger question is why don’t more people embrace Buddhism? However, Buddhism is widely misunderstood in America. The western view of Buddhism could be product of the discrepancies within the basic history and traditions of the religion itself. There is even controversy regarding what the role of the monks in comparison with the layman of the religion is. Also, nobody has ever been found to be as enlightened as the Buddha was, not even the initial members of his religious order who eventually achieved a level of enlightenment that earned them the title that translated to the “perfected ones.” That seems a bit discouraging to the general
