We go through our whole kindergarten through twelfth grade career preparing for college, by eleventh grade we end up with a year long cramming for the SAT or ACT, depending on your curriculum, just to end up with a mediocre score and the unlikely chance of being accepted into the big college of our dreams. Many people end up going to college just to find out they wasted anywhere from $15,000 and up on just one semester of college and all other necessities need to survive college. Only realize that college was not for them or they just did not go to college. There are many, of which, who are successful that did not get a college degree, such as, Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA. This man has the net worth of $23 billion and did not get higher than a college education. Or Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, with the net worth $54 billion and a Harvard college dropout. Throughout the world many jobs that are passed off lightly in the U.S., to our teenagers, is actually a serious taken job in other places. For example, the job of waitressing is taken very seriously in places like France or Italy, they appreciate and respect that people will put up with others that are not always grateful. To show our gratitude the check has the tip put into it to ensure the waiter does get paid on your behalf. Their minimum wage is generally higher too, than our $8.90 an hour(Minimum wage). In which they are paid $10.51 per hour in places like France(What is). Where jobs that are undermined in America are actually taken seriously in Europe like waitressing or owning a restaurant. It’s part of their culture being open to small jobs because they know that the little people are how the big people get their reputation from. For instance waitering in France is very serious and being rude to a waiter is looked down upon. Businesses have politeness policies for this reason but still waitering is not like the high school job gigs over here. If you waiter over there you need to be serious for five years or more. Other places are like this too with small businesses, like Italy. In Italy it is very respectable to own a restaurant or vineyard. But here in America you are laughed at for trying to open a small business. College is the gateway

Overall, college is not a good investment for anyone but the college that you’re paying. It costs too much teaches you few life skills, and doesn’t jive with everyone. As such, it’s recommended that you skip out on college and learn how to live how to live in the real world
Honestly college at this certain point in time does not seem worth it. Everywhere else in the world college is free but the United States. People would feel more motivated to go to college if it was free. College is the main reason Americans are having to live such a hard lifestyle. My father did not go to college and makes eighteen dollars an hour. On the other hand my aunt did go to college and make twenty-four dollars an hour but is still paying back student loans so after paying all of her stuff back she only makes around fifteen dollars an hour that she gets to bring back and that doesn’t include taxes. That’s the reason college doesn’t seem like a good choice to make in life.
Preparing for College after graduating from high school is considered to be as one of the most thought by students. Even so, most students nowadays are uncertain whether attending college will be a good advantage for them. Some believe that it is a waste of time and money, but most people consider it as a reason to thrive in life. Unlike High school, College is certainly different because it determines your future and should be taken more earnestly by the students. College education is a worth of cost because it basically provides students with great benefits, which can be a good help in shaping their future goals.
Many college graduates are finding it hard to get jobs. The biggest issue is the amount of debt Americans are facing due to the college degree they were told they should have. Colleges have been raising the prices on everything from tuition to books. The government is giving out loans to students without even asking where they’re going to school for, or if they’ll even have a plan to pay off the debt in the future. The mentality is that corporations and business won’t hire someone unless they possess a college degree. Gerald Celente, from Trends Research Institute, says “It makes no difference to have a college degree.” (College Conspiracy Scam - youtube) He wants individuals to have minds and to think for themselves. Many believe that with a degree they can have any car and house they desire and commonly known as the American Dream.
Attending college is worth it. Students who a college education and graduate have many more life changing opportunities than those who don 't; the debates of studying after high school has been ongoing for countless years, but statistics have proven that majority to all students who go to college achieve more life goals than the average high school graduate. They receive better work benefits, life skills, higher paying salaries, etc. There is a downside to everything in life such as debt is to college education. However, the price students pay is insufficient compared to what the benefits they receive after graduating from college.
There is no need for everyone to get a college degree when they can be trained in technologies and trades that can offer a job and a paycheck. America still needs manufacturing technicians, mechanics, and carpenters. Without these key workers America would not be able to function properly. The USA needs to start encouraging its citizens to go to trade schools because that is where the jobs that make good money are. A college degree used to be the only way to get a good paying job but times have changed and getting vocational training from a trade school is the best option many people have for earning a living.
School is a process that takes time and a lot of dedication. When we finish high school we have to choose to go to college or not. Most people go to college without knowing what they want to do. The only thing we know is that we want a degree of some sort. Getting a college degree should be essential to everybody because without one you won’t be successful in life.
College education goes about the way to an effective future for people who are not kidding with it. Currently, a college education has turned in the base necessity in securing a job in different companies and although some people might think college is not worth the debt, in a long run it actually is.
There is a thin line of people who should and should not attend college. That is a huge decision that could either be the best decision they have ever made or it could be a costly mistake causing thousands of dollars of debt to pile up. There are reasons such as costly tuitions, unnecessary fees, no guarantee of a career, piling of debt, and questionable educational quality, that lead me to believe that college is not worth the money people pay for it.
It is easy to think college is not worth the cost to become better, but getting educated molds a better person, and creates happier people in the future and occasionally they become better in health (Leonhardt 25 ). Becoming a better and happier person is pleasing for everyone. Even former President Obama says “‘Education helps us be better people. It helps us be better citizens. You came to college to learn about the world and to engage with new ideas and to discover the things you're passionate about -- and maybe have a little fun’” (Procon.org). Learning and engaging in everything is a skill everyone should have, so like he said we should go to college to be able to do that. Additionally, education shows people to develop more intellectual skill and become more responsible (Pew Social and Demographic Trends). Thus said, being educated and smart is something everyone can do and college helps with that. Likewise, college can encourage someone to be more educated and happier. Reaching the point of happier and more educated is worth the cost.
It is a competitive job market and if one wants a high paying job he needs some college credentials. College is also said to prepare people to take on the world. Once one has graduated and has a well paying job he is on his way to becoming successful. People work their whole lives making money so they can satisfy their desires. The idea of being able to purchase the items one has always dreamt about is an achievement. People dream about owning a home and having beautiful things to fill it with. Many people take pride in what they possess. People want to own nice homes, nice cars, and nice clothes. Some need to look successful in order to feel successful. These people feel successful when they can admire what their hard work has given them.
...ch makes perfect sense is that jobs with high paying salaries and jobs like a teacher, dentist, nurse, or lawyer all require you to have a college education.
...s comes with college being too expensive and is growing at a rate higher than inflation (Kantrowitz). There are many great jobs out there that don’t require a degree and pay good as well as on the job training. The truths many people aren’t willing to admit are getting a college degree will lead people to better careers too. People don’t need a college degree to be successful, but having an education is important, along with a desire to continue to learn, work hard, and adapt.
And in a post modern world like the one we are now living in where the world is not only powered by wealth but also the need to attain wealth, the influence of money have far outweighed that of education. Money is used in the funding of these educational institutions, Money is also a necessity to attend and most people, if not all, seek education to get better jobs, that will pay well, resulting in wealth. Believe it or not most entrepreneurs only have high school education.
