After reflecting upon the devotional, it is evident that God is a constructivist whose creation of mankind was implemented through backward design. There are several pieces of evidence that support the notion that God is a backward designer. One piece of evidence involves the order in which God created man. As apparent in Genesis 1:26, God had a desired result in mind prior to the creation of mankind, which displays the first step involved in the backward design theory. God declared, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground (Genesis 1:26).” Through His word, it is unmistakable that God is a constructivist by nature due to the fact that he proclaimed his desired result, which was for mankind to rule over the earth, prior to implementing His …show more content…
Following this, God determined acceptable evidence in support of His desired outcome, which is the second step involved in the constructivist theory. Through His word, as stated in John 1:12, God deemed that acceptable evidence was that those who trust and believe in Him are His children. In addition to creating acceptable evidence, God planned learning experiences for mankind and provided instructions on how to obtain His desired result; thus, displaying the third step in the constructivist theory. Although, as stated in Hebrews 12:7-11, these learning experiences consist of hardships and tribulations, children of God trust in Him and understand that through all things He is good. This is further supported through His word, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” (Psalm 34:8).The purpose of mankind’s learning experiences is to facilitate the acquisition of God’s desired result, which is an integral component of His planned sanctification process for His
Although I read the Genesis2:4b-4:26 and Genesis 1:1-2:4a stories to try to understand why God create us, I still do not understand why, why god create us? Is it because he feel lonely? Or because he wants to have fun? Or “According to the Atrahasis story, the gods created human beings to do the work that the gods themselves refused to do (p.4)”. Why god use so much energy to create us and still need we to believe in him/her and give us pain and suffer, then he comes to save us or redemption? And also, how the Jahwist/Yahwist and the Priestly source knew what God said, and did they see God, like people saw Jesus? The story is God told them or they made it up to make people believe. “These two specific texts are mythic or symbolic narratives, not scientific theories (p.5)”. Krieg is right, not everything can use scientific to determine right and wrong or reason, especially the religion. But I do not think that is good answer for t...
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis1:1.) God’s perfect wisdom created everything. In Genesis 1 and 2 we can see that God has loving and gentile nature when He created the earth and heavens. God created man in his image and we are the only creation that God breathed in the breath of life for human beings (Genesis 2:7). God did not do this for any of other creations but only for humans. The Bible has many scriptures that tell us how creative God is. Genesis 1;26 states “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created all of this for us to have fellowship with him.
The Question of God is divided into two parts. The first part, titled: “What Should We Believe” seeks to answer the first half of the questio...

Moreover, Stern’s explains how God is the creator of all things he is the uncreated [author’s italicization]. Furthermore, he gives in details God’s unfailing love for his creation by showing creation right from wrong. “According to the New Testament, he is love. His love is expressed, in part, in providing law

In Genesis I, God creates an orderly natural universe. He separates and categorizes everything he creates. For instance, he separates the seventh day from all the others. This suggests that everything in the universe has its proper place and will follow its regular path. In addition, the cosmos is purposeful and unified. What is created each day depends upon what was previously created. Those things created on the fourth through sixth days are dependant on those things created on the first through third days. For instance, air, water, birds, and fish are dependant on light, sun, moon, and stars, and land, vegetation, animals, and mankind are dependant among air, water, birds, and fish as well as light, sun, moon and stars. This suggests God created things in the world to fit together in an orderly and hierarchical fashion. Things are creat...

There is a distinction, a type of separation that exists between God and all other beings. God is unlimited and infinite, where as all other things are limited and finite. Man exists somewhere in between a state of creatureliness and Godliness. Similar to the way that God has given commands to other creatures, he tells man that he should be "fruitful and multiply," (Pagels, xii). Man's purpose is to procreate, according to Genesis. Yet man's function is uniq...
When you read chapter one of Genesis you have the feeling that God is perfect. God holds all power and control. God turns chaos into order. "God said 'Let there be light.' And there was light, And God saw the light, that it was good" (Gen 1. 3). God's word is action, God's word is law in the universe. When God creates something, he ends it with God seeing that's its good. This is in effect giving support to the perfect nature that is God and the creations God has made. "God does not play dice" (Armstrong 9), God has order and a purpose for what he makes. An important aspect to God is seen while he is creating the world. He separates water from land. Light from Darkens, Day and Night, Male and Female. This shows that boundaries are important to God. We see examples where God put boundaries on mankind with their language by mixing the language up so confuse man and killing off the evil from the good.
In William Paley’s paradigm, the world is perfectly designed by a benevolent God who purposefully created everything and “superadded pleasure to animal sensations” (RP 47 ). Paley strongly believes the existence of a God who is wise and benevolent enough to create everything on earth with happiness and a purpose. For Paley, science is a tool to complement the greatness of religion and prove the importance of Design (RP 46). In order to support his paradigm, Paley illustrates the contrivance and work of God in nature with the methodological assumption of First Cause (the belief in the existence of God) and Final Cause (the belief that a God creates an object with a purpose). Additionally, the metaphysical assumption of a close, active God underlies the paradigm as a premise that influences e...
Theory of the creation and for some, it is still a myth. However, Genesis introduces the God or Elohim in the Hebrew as the creator of the world, humans, and nature. The tree chapter mainly focuses on how God has created the heavens, earth, animals, and humankind.
Every day God created something new and blesses it. God created nothing irrelevant or unworthy. Entirely everything he created served a purpose. Also all he had created came from nothing. The fish were undeniably produced out of the waters, and the beasts and man out of the earth; but that earth and those waters were made out of nothing. God created what is known as the world today and everything that exists on the earth. Reading Genesis 1 gives all mankind an idea of how life started and how the earth was formed to be this magnificent place. The earth is very complicated yet God could solve all of the problems and create blessings. He gave us light and darkness, day and night, water and land. He created all living creature including mankind.
In Genesis chapter 1, verse 1, why did God create the heavens and earth first? He could have created light and darkness first to theoretically help Him see when He made the heavens and earth. Or better yet, He could have created man first so there would be extra help for the of creation. The fact that God deliberately created everything in a specific order shows that God has perfect timing and an agenda He’s following. If we use the example of Christ’s first coming we know that God did not send Him right away.
There are several creation stories from many different cultures. Many of them revolve around the importance of the formation of the world and the making of man and the significance of their existence. Every story is unique in its reasons for creating man as well as what expectations they put on their people. Similarly in most of the tales the gods ask their people to follow them and in turn, if they are faithful, they will be protected from harm. Man’s only job is to follow their gods’ will and live as they are told.
