The first night Hagen is locked in the bathroom by Lili’s father. Hegan is not used to his new surroundings and being separated from Lili. when he starts to loudly whine Lili goes to him and consoles him by playing her trumpet.Lili’s father lives in a place where all dogs that are mixed breed need to be registered and subject to a mongrel tax. The dog catcher shows up after a neighbor complains. He tells Lilis father he needs to pay the mongrel tax or turn the dog over to the shelter. Lili’s father does not want to pay the tax so he gives Lili the choice of taking the dog to a shelter, or setting him free. Hagen would be killed if taken to a shelter so Lili agrees to let him go. She tells Hagen to wait for her. The film splits to following the parallels between Lili and Hagen. She did not have a lot of facial expressions making her emotions hard for the viewer to read. Her paralanguage style was monotone for the most part giving her rare vocal changes a more dramatic effect. 5) Would you consider the film to have a happy ending? Why or Why not? Would this film be popular in your home culture? Why or why not? This film did not have a happy ending. Knowing that Hagen and the other dogs will be executed is depressing. The real animals are the awful people who drive the dogs to go on a bloodthirsty rampage of revenge. The violence and poor treatment of the dogs in this film leads me to believe that it would not be very popular in Westernized culture. 6) Was there something in the film that you just didn’t understand? Please explain what it was and whether you think that it was culturally based confusion or not. Lili’s mother sends her to live with her father knowing the relationship is not what it should be for a 3 month holiday. She did not first check with Lili’s father if taking Hagen with her was exceptable. I think parents do things like this everywhere and it is not culturally
Mark was the first boy that Jennings met in the home so he was the one to show Jennings the rules of the home. He slept with Doggie his first night but was panicked when he woke up to find Doggie gone. Jennings thought he had lost Doggie, Mark explained what happens every night with the animals that they are given. Jennings didn’t understand why the nuns would take them away, when he asked Mark “‘But why?’ Mark snapped and said ‘It’s the rules!’ ‘They cage the animals at night. It’s the rules.’”(Burch, 26) Jennings thought that Doggie was his, so when he was lent out to the Carpenter’s he didn’t realize he wouldn’t be able to take Doggie with him. Mrs. Carpenter was a very mean woman and Jennings just wanted Doggie back, he drew a picture of him hoping it would make him feel better. When he got back to the Home of the angels he was very happy to know Doggie was safe and he would get to sleep with him again. Shortly after Jennings got back to the home Sister Clair told Jennings she would be leaving to go help at a school, they were both new in the Home of the angels at the same time. When Jennings woke up, he found Doggie under his pillow with a note attached from Sister Clair that

I had never known T. Ray to worship anyone except Snout, the dog love of his life, but seeing him now, I knew he'd loved Deborah Fontanel, and when she'd left him, he'd sunk into bitterness.” Lily had finally understood why T-ray was always so mean and cruel to her after all that time.
The fifteen dogs were all given human intelligence. The first three were not righteous enough to leave the clinic because of the human intelligence. The other eleven lived either a miserable life or an unhappy death. That leaves one left, Prince. Human intelligence should not be given to dogs or any animal. This is because the hardships of life are far to hard for animals
Baz Luhrmann has done this film in a unique and brilliant way, with help of the above, and of course a great loved story as a base.
Milos career began in the 1960’s with his first film Magic Lantern II. It was not by any means successful. However, Milos Forman career was just beginning to blossom as a director. Milos Forman is one of the Czechoslovak New Wave lead directors (Biography). His films, Loves...
[A major handicap that Whites face is that they are unable to unite like Blacks. Blacks are effective at uniting and acting en masse with voting, boycotts, etc. Whites seem completely unable to unite even save their race or country from mongrelization. The White ruling elite, who place the acquisition of wealth and power and serving Lucifer above all else, manipulate Blacks to act en masse to advance the causes of the ruling elite while they keep Whites divided. Thus, they are destroying the White race so that they can bring down America, Western Civilization, and Christianity.]
He is constantly being ignored by the family members in the house and not getting any attention, unlike most dogs. He finds a friend in the Moor-Hen and is quick to open up to her. He tells her that “nobody ever talks to me, and I never talk to anybody” (36). His isolation is the reason he becomes quickly attached to the Moor-Hen. She is the first person that he has a meaningful conversation with and he quickly becomes obsessive. His isolation is the reason that he latches onto her so quickly. He has never felt a feeling like the one he did when he opened up to the Moor-Hen and confided in her. He becomes scared of losing this feeling and becoming isolated again, so he becomes possessive of the Moor-Hen. When she talks about leaving him at the end of the play, he says that “I can feel you drifting away. I can feel a distance between us” (75). This is the reason he ends up killing her; he is afraid of feeling isolated from everyone again. This situation is similar to Huldey because both characters feel a sense of loneliness, and end up killing someone because of it. The Mastiff is afraid of being isolated again and kills the Moor-Hen so that she can’t leave him. In Huldey’s case, she ends up killing the cause of her isolation – Agatha. In the production, when the Mastiff walks back on the stage after killing the Moor-Hen, he is covered in blood and feathers. This change in costume allows the audience to infer what happened with the Moor-Hen and displays just how tragic an isolated character can

The Color Purple: Spirituality The novel, The Color Purple, written by Alice Walker is a series of diary entries and letters. The concept of religion holds a large part in the novel. The character Celie communicates with God through letters that she is writing to maintain and support her mental health. Walker transforms Celie and her sister, Nettie, towards a spiritual understanding of God, through the journey of life. A Significant point in Celie’s spiritual growth is when she turns away from the stereotypic Christian church.
The Holocaust is one of the most dreadful and unforgettable time in human history. This event of a huge genocide has become the topic of many films; and “The Pianist” is one of them.“The Pianist” is a historical drama directed by Roman Polanski. Personally, I think this is a great movie that is worthy to watch. Through the realistic scenes in the film, the touching performances of Adrien Brody, and the unique way which the film was shot, Polanski has successfully brought the audience to experience the terror of the Holocaust and the hope and strength for survival.
A little later, a woman who had previously sex with Yuuji, drops a boy in his house, telling him to take care of him. Furthermore, the boy seems to be mute. Yuuji barely pays attention to the boy, but he continues following him, watching him kill his targets and indulge in the pleasures offered by a brothel. While there, Yuuji meets Lily, a prostitute who wants to escape her life. As soon as he realizes that his new gang turns against him, using Lily to find him, Yuuji takes the boy and her and escape, while traitors and killers seem to follow them everywhere.
It’s also an allegory for the treatment of animals as pets, as well can clearly see by the relationship of Terr and Tiwa. Themes that were very prominent through the world particularly at the time of the cold war. Would I recommend this film? Perhaps not for everyone but if you are looking for a creative artistic and thought provoking film. Then I would try The Fantastic
Ones take of this story can be many of sorts. The dog essential may have saved this young child, his father may have chosen to throw him out the window. If the dog wasn’t there to take his place, who is to say what could had happened? It also shows how the dogs undeniable, love, devotion and eagerness to please his master. Eventually these traits, sadly left him resting lifeless in his young master’s arms. The relationships between these characters, is one of who’s pulling the strings. The abuse has been passed down from father to son. This story leaves an emptiness, with the unsettling turn of events.
It is apparent that socialization of culture is prevalent in all schools, but how is this done? We have to examine the multiple ways authority figures in schools socialize whiteness to Black students. This starts with racializing behaviors. Teachers and authority figures are equating certain behaviors with Blackness, even if all students, regardless of race, preform these behaviors. Teachers would connect Ebonics or “talking Black” to the student’s poor performance in school.
