Improvisation & Aesthetics
Improvisation is a state of being and creation without pre planning. You create something completely new and never be seen before. This can be when someone is acting, dancing, singing, playing music, talking, creating artworks, reacting the moment and response to how they feel. When it works, this can result in the invention of new thought patterns or structure, and new ways to act.
It is a hit and miss. When it is a hit everything is worthwhile. Take photo shoot for example. When model post for a photo they are improvising. And those hundreds of photo that has been taken only a few turn out to be “excellent”. This is what I think is the core of improvisation. Improvisation is an action “on the spot” spontaneous moment of sudden action that can just come to mind and body in the moment of what ever inspired you. No preparation or training is required. Although practice made perfect.
However, improvisation for any art form itself, can be used as the way to practice in order to improve the artist’s creativity. That practice includes learning to use imagination, as well as technical ability. To understand and master skills that is necessary, practice is a must in whatever art form you are doing. The different is the method that is used to practice some prefer to a carefully planned strict practice similar to work out building muscle routine. Some prefer improvisation. It is depends on your purpose of practicing. If the artist wants to be creative, and make some thing new, improvisation is the way to go. If the artist wants to just enhance one specific skills for example guitar player wants to have more power in all their fingers. In that case, a strict set of what to p...

Experimenting with the concept of shape, time, and energy while moving without thinking about anything. Saying like “just feel it” while dancing and listen to the sound around the dancer can create unique and innovative movement designs and unpredictable rhythms. Improvisation without thinking allows the choreographer to connect to their deepest creative self, which in turn clears the way for pure invention.
Improvisation when done right is perhaps the best way to create arts. However this doesn’t happen in the first time. Before any improvisation create any amazing results. The artists need to work on their craft and technical skill in order to apply improvising as their tools.

Fast. Risky. Intriguing. The upbeat tempo, clashing of high-hats, and randomness in the seduction of jazz draws in an audience during a performance. The musical art form of jazz uses key elements that mainstream music normally use to draw an audience in. However, the added emphasis of improvisation sets jazz apart from mainstream music. Improvisation calls for a musician to create new music on the spot. Musicians use elements like tempo changes, tone, riffs, and etc., to express improvisation. As jazz originates from the African American
... better way for people to express their emotions. First of all, improvisation is dancing what your feeling or thinking at that time so that expresses your emotions, and therefore contact improvisation would be more effective to get your feelings out on war.
Jazz makes heavy use of improvisation where immediate action is taken when composing music without any preparation. By improvising, one is taking music to a new, personal level with great creativity and using your imagination to be free and express your emotions and ideas.
Composition music theory has a longing history of how it was brought up and the way it has evolved into new cultures. “Musical Composition, the act of conceiving a piece of music, the art of creating music, or the finished product. These meanings are interdependent and presume a tradition in which musical works exist as repeatable entities. In this sense, composition is necessarily distinct from improvisation.” (Crossley-Holland, Peter)
A recent debate tackled a particular aspect of creativity studies that focused on whether creativity studies should be included in the core curriculum of education or should be integrated into existing courses. Though some colleges and other institutions have already implemented creativity studies programs. The question of whether this is the right decision is yet to be answered. Many professionals and authors have made claims regarding this issue of creativity studies and have provided effective arguments. Since each one of them has different assumptions about creativity studies and agree only on few aspects of the
A theatre play can be described as characters acting out a scene that they have memorized and brought to life. In improvisation, there is a character that is played out but not in the conventional sense. The characters play within the setting and do not memorize scripts but instead act according to the circumstances. which makes improvisation appealing in that aspect. Viola Spolin makes these points very clear by presenting the Point Of Concentration. Keith Johnstone believes that improvisation occurs through status placed with one another. Each author has their way to go about improvisation, both, however, make important contributions to the art of improvisation.
What exactly is creativity? To be creative is to understand and connect the small details of our experiences, both good and bad (creative something). Creativity involves a person using his or her original ideas to create something. Artists such as poets, writers, painters, designers, and more use creativity on a regular basis. They use creativity to come up with new ideas and create original works of art. A poet would use his or her creative abilities to write and produce a poem just like a painter would use creativity to paint a painting.
Choreographers define dance as “telling a story without speaking”, “the language of the body”, “explaining your heart through movement”, and “is a unique passion that ca be fulfilling to its choreographers, dancers, and audience” (Senior Mastery Choreography Survey). The responses to the Senior Mastery Choreographer Survey proves that the stimulating and creating process of the choreography in the brain is the difficult aspect of this job, but when the visions are transferred to the dancers the results can be tremendous and sometimes breathtaking. The choreography can be created by the use of shapes, kinesthetic and scenic spacing, timing, and different tactics to leave a meaning to the audience. Choreography and dance have been a part of the arts for a myriad of years and will be for numerous more. It is an emotional entertainment that leaves the audience with a message and feelings towards a
Dance serves as an exposure of expression throughout the world depending on its cultural context and function of either producing a work of art, a way of socializing or its use for ritualistic purposes. Bollywood, one of the most famous styles of cultural dance, in essence is an Indian film dance style modeled on both the traditional Indian classical and folk dance while fusing inspiration from more modern styles, allows the performer to act out the lyrics of a song, fashioning a story. The wild world of African dance on the other hand, represents the fundamentals and belief system of historical Africa, by moving in an expression to their inner feelings. Although these styles of dance may seem to be at either end of the spectrum, each share the similarity of a “mass pattern of dance which may hold a mirror to humanity…functionally allowing the human body to be exposed to the world, communicating in every aspect, whether it is the magnificent art form or the daily movement” (Doris Humphrey). Through analysis and interpretation of both the non-movement and movement components, while examining the function of dance which is present in each cultural art form, the similarities and differences of how they create meaning through dance will be exposed.
In my opinion creativity is essential, without it, life would be routine and almost pointless at any point in time. Since I was very young, art has been a major part of my life. I lived to create new things, whether it was on paper, made of clay, or created from wood. Due to my dedication, I have advanced in my art and brought many people entertainment. If creativity had not been implied, no one would have enjoyed the drawings or paintings I had made.
By watching dancers perform, it gives you a feeling that is indescribable. A dancer makes the music come alive and only dancers know the joy it brings to their body. I asked Kristina Rios what she feels like when she dances and her response was “I feel happy and stree free’. Most dancers would agree and say dance is an outlet to be free and express the way they
Since we are born we have imagination and as we grow up this imagination may increase or decrease. Creativity strongly relies in our imagination. Depending on different circumstances people learn to express their creativity openly while other people close themselves and believe they do not have creativity. Creativity is a natural talent that every single human has. Creativity can be used to solve a complex problem in a different manner or just to find innovative ways to have fun. Creativity is thinking out of the box. Even though creativity cannot be taught from scratch there should be a class that is specific for creativity.
“Dance, the art of precise, expressive, and graceful human movement, traditionally, but not necessarily, performed in accord with musical accompaniment. Dancing developed as a natural expression of united feeling and action.”
