There are many different ways to teach Rosa Parks. This video did an excellent job of keeping my attention and showing me not just telling me what Rosa Parks did for the civil rights movement. A way I could teach Rosa Parks is to put the students into her shoes. Help them understand how brave she was to take the actions she did. I could have the students do a research paper on what Rosa Parks did before she took the actions she did.
One lesson that I really liked in high school was in an Adult Role class. The class was separated into three color groups. One color represented the high class. This class was able to boss the other two around. The second color represented the middle class. They could boss the low class around but not the first
