Throughout Roman history, war has been portrayed as an honourable event which played a large role within Roman cultures and society. The Roman empire was ‘formed’ in around 27 BC, as a consequence of Augustus Caesar becoming the first emperor of the Roman empire. The Roman empire was defined as the group of countries which covered most of Europe and some Eastern nations nations, centred around the origin state of Rome. Wars in this empire were mainly caused by the foundations of this empire, territory and politics. Throughout Roman history and the history of the formation of the Roman empire there are many well documented wars caused by these flashpoints. There have been wars that have influenced the rise of the empire, strengthened the empire and weakened/ destroyed the empire, i will discuss all of these.
