Poe imagined and put into words for the first time issues, urban myths and fears that are common today. In this story Poe makes a graphic and detailed description of the setting and the imagery that he tries to include for us (The readers) enjoy his stories.
However, this genius of American literature created something else: what we now call "modern story" and the stories of gender as the police, the horror story and even science fiction. In the story “The Cask of Amontillado”, Edgar Allan Poe proves that he is the best horror story writer with the use of imagery, setting and point of view.
