Although morality isn't talked about much in To Kill a Mockingbird, it plays a pivotal role in the story's development, most directly through Scout's father Atticus Finch. Morality can be interpreted in many ways, however, Biblical morality shows a clear correlation to integrity, justice, and courage. These three best convey the message of morality throughout the book and are shown in Atticus Finch’s character. If someone is a moral compass for others, they serve as a role model or a set example that people should follow. Atticus Finch serves as this moral compass in the sinful town of Maycomb, truly displaying integrity, justice, and courage. While some might think of courage as something only seen in superheroes like Superman, it's more than just physical bravery. It also includes the courage to face difficult truths. During the trial depicted in "To Kill a Mockingbird," Atticus Finch exemplifies this courageous spirit by bravely revealing the harsh reality of Bob Ewell's violence against his daughter and challenging the biases in the courtroom. Despite the discomfort it causes, Atticus stands firm for fairness and justice, by providing the court with the unfiltered truth about the Ewells. However, acts of courage like this can lead to backlash, as seen in Bob Ewell's vengeful actions against Atticus after the trial. While walking down the street, Mr. Ewell came up to Atticus, spit on him and cursed him out, but the most shameful act of revenge done by Bob Ewell was assaulting Atticus's children. By pointing out the flaws in the courtroom and the falsehood of the claims set upon Tom Robinson, Atticus Finch puts himself into the line of fire not only by losing his reputation but also by inadvertently putting his children in danger, this alone shows the sheer courage which Atticus Finch
