Civilization is a conscious decision that is made by you. Everyone has an option what Civilization is and if you are civilized or uncivilized. We have the power to chose how we act whether it's choosing to volunteer , further your education, or be an christan. Civilization is the thing that keeps us in line. We have a system of checks and balances to make sure everyone behaves. If someone does something we believe to be morally wrong the person is punished. Take away civilization and society will go to ruin. People will revert back to their primal selves. Going on instinct and not intellect.

Webster's online dictionary defines civilization as "a society in an advanced state of social development". Without the restraints of society, the behaviour of people will regress to their savage beginnings, due to the fact that one's need for survival will overpower all other impulses. The descent into savagery, man's inherent desire to survive over anything else, and the need for civilization and order shows how society unnaturally holds everyone together. Society artificially bonds everything together by imposing rules and structures and without the reminders of civilization and its conventions the savagery of human nature emerges.
Early civilization remains permits us to observe how life was lived in earlier times. Until the Neolithic Era humans were fairly nomadic. When they became knowledgeable of farming they began to realize that they would not have to be nomadic anymore thus forming civilizations. These early civilizations were typically polytheistic, which means that they believed in many gods. During these civilizations they also learned to tame animals and their technologies grew more and more advanced. Almost all early civilizations have failed but they all left a lasting mark that will continue forever. The Nile River Valley Civilization and the Mesopotamia Civilization are both amazing but they both have their differences in their political and social aspects.
How do we, as humans, define civilization? What is it that exemplifies our commonality as a species and sets us apart from the common beast? Is it art, science, literature, technological advances, or the philosophical mind? In the Lord of the Flies, Golding successfully unravels our delicate perceptions about what makes us human through a series of haunting and powerfully constructed symbols; among the most integral are the beast, the Lord of the Flies itself, and the fire. Through his narrative, illumination is cast upon the evil inherent in human nature, and society is revealed as a weak and easily penetrable façade. Furthermore, our level of refinement is given light as an instrument for incomparable malevolence, enhancing our powers of destruction beyond that of any of our primal ancestors.
A person may have the desire to do everything but it is only one or two things he can do in life. Especially today, although nothing is impossible, it is highly unlikely for one to be able to do all the desired things in life because of how there are too many people competing for the same thing or it takes a lot of effort and dedication to keep up and work hard until reaching the goal. Therefore, humans are given the ability to choose between things because having too many expectations or too few is not good. When these hopes are shattered, they result in a very negative outcome.
Civilization in a Brave New World The dictionary defines civilized as "advanced in social customs, art, and culture." and science and the world. " The keyword here is social customs. A person's idea of what is civilized relative to his culture.
The Neolithic Revolution made government more important for three reasons; property ownership, public works, and a military. Property ownership caused people to argue over who owned certain land and without any laws put in place to distinguish people owned. As civilizations grew, there was a high demand for public works for the people, so the government created them. Before civilizations and forms of government, there were not any active and organized militaries leaving people to fight for themselves against others, so government created a military.
Civilizations are formed because humans need one another to survive. The relationships between one another are what make humans strong; thus, the ability to work together and care for each other is what sets humans apart from every other species on the planet. Most humans spend their lives with their parents and then leave home when they find other important relationships through the process of maturation, usually a spouse. As it says in Genesis 2:24, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh,” humans are meant to seek companionship (Gen 2:24). Humans get married and create new families of their own, and these new relationships dictate our actions.
“We believe in personal choice, rather than society dictating how we must live our lives.”- Mike Peters. In the book The Giver by Lois Lowry, the citizens in the community live without choice, meaning they have no control over their own lives. Because of that they do not suffer the consequences for any choice but they do not get to experience freedom. Lois Lowry is saying, the importance of personal choice can change a person's emotions, helps people’s abilities to be independent and affects the freedom which allows a person to pursue what they want in life and to make their own decisions for their future. A person’s emotions can change because they do not know what to feel since all their decisions are made for them, being able to choose
In the end God ultimately decides ones fate, but one can influence His choice throughout their life. The play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, as well as the books The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, Divine Comedy by Dante, and Oresteia by Aeschylus all talk about justice and fate. These stories show how even though God will decide what happens to someone at the end, the actions one does is how God bases his decision. One’s fate is determined based on what God and the law think is just. Human beings have free will and know what is right and wrong. Depending on what ones actions are they will have a good or a bad fate. Changing your ways to better fulfill Gods will is something that humans can do at any time. While it is true that God will determine what happens to people and what their final fate is, human beings do have control over their fate.
A civilization is the starting point of a society. Civilizations have existed for millions of years and are the basic unit of structure for a society. Civilizations were the base of great societies such as Egypt and Rome. If not for civilizations these societies would not have flourished or even existed.
Nature is complicated. It includes many different sorts of things and one of these is human beings. Such beings exhibit one unique yet natural attribute that others things apparently do not—that is free will.
For thousands of years, people all over the world have developed, progressed, and eventually formed civilizations. A civilization is a community characterized by elements such as a system of writing, a development of social classes, and cities. Early civilizations such as ancient Greece, classical Rome, Mesopotamia, and classical China have made many contributions to society that still affect people in the modern world. The inventions, progress, and contributions of the people of these ancient civilizations and others have shaped the world that we all live in today.
A Civilization is a group of people who work together. Therefore, what it means to be civilized is having a well organized, behaved, and ordered society. However, there are different, controversial strategies used to achieve an orderly civilization. So, being civilized can be positive or negative depending on how order is achieved. For example, a civilization can include a fair democracy where everyone is able to vote and participate in the government. In addition, there is equality among the citizens and everyone shares the same rights. In contrast, being civilized could mean having a harsh dictator control the civilization. There is still a well-organized and behaved society, but that is accomplished out of fear and there is no equality. The pros of a civilization are that the economy generally is very strong and functions well, infrastructure is constantly being improved, and the society itself continues to grow and accomplish new things. Cons of a civilization, especially a civilization that is lead by a dictator, is that citizens may not all be equal, or share the same rights, and there may be forced labor. Ralph and Piggy in Lord of the Flies are considered civilized because both use tools of civilization, contribute to maintaining a well organized civilization by using their knowledge and leadership skills, and stay innocent/ not let
