What does it really mean to live peacefully? How does America live up to their saying of “land of the free”? Policy implication should directly relate to the problem at hand. If the pursuit of the American dream cause crime because of strain, then other available means should be put in place to help. The govern should assist I trying to achieve a goal by the present means. I should be a law that make it impossible for someone to be deprive from a good paying job and education. This would help build people’s willingness of working and succeeding in order to achieve their dream. Regarding poverty, there has to be something done to lower poverty rate. There should be policies implication that helps to rebuild each poor community. Jobs should also be available for these low income families. Money for food should be available for the ones who need it the most. There are some limitations in who can receive food stamp and help from the government. No one should be refused the help if they are in dire need of surviving. They would not have to turn to life of crime just to put food on their families

The exact amount of poverty that exits in the United States are difficult to ascertain, since the manner in which poverty is measured determines the amount of poverty reported. The U.S. Bureau of the Census reported that there were about 33,100,00 persons classified as officially below the poverty level in 1985. Small children that live in low-income households, are vulnerable to a wide variety of problems, including poor nutrition, inadequate housing, substandard medical attention, lack of proper nutrition, and physical or emotional abuse. Adolescents from these backgrounds become part of cycle of low-income or unemployment. Black and Hispanic teenagers have particularly acute problems obtaining employment. The President's Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice recognized the role of poverty in producing delinquency and noted that the most serious forms of juvenile delinquencies are more prevalent between youths at the lowest socioeconomic levels.
Everyone knows what the word poverty means. It means poor, unable to buy the necessities to survive in today's world. We do not realize how easy it is for a person to fall into poverty: A lost job, a sudden illness, a death in the family or the endless cycle of being born into poverty and not knowing how to overcome it. Gangs have become a major issue in Memphis Tennessee. These gangs participate in activities such as, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, theft, human trafficking, murder, and the list goes on. All of these activities can potentially result in people getting killed. Memphis is considered the Southern headquarters for gangs in the United States with close to 200 different gangs and a total of almost 10,000 members in just the city alone. Some of the major gangs in Memphis are, Goonsquad, YoungMob, Trulla, and King Gate Mafia.
