There are many kinds of music genre. Not everyone is into the same kinds of genres either, but most people are into pop or rap music. There are many songs that represents American values and ideas. The genre does not matter, but there is a common theme in most songs that are played on the radio. “Welcome to America, Fear, I’ll Find You” by Lecrae, are all song that reflect and represent American values and ideas in his lyrics. Welcome to America is the song that will be used to point out some values or ideas that represent American people. Some Americans values consist of the freedom we have, choice in religion, and being materialistic. One of the lyrics in Lecrae's song says, “ Man I’d die for America. I served my time in America. Got shot-shot back went to war. Got back and ain’t nobody give a jack in America… And everybody want the freedom but nobody want to hear ‘about face’.” One American value is freedom. Americans are proud of their country and many of them would sacrifice their own life for it. There are also people that are not willing to fight for our country and also take advantage …show more content…
One thing that foreigners have noticed was that Americans are very materialistic. The song says “When y’all free here saying you don’t wanna be here… I heard you selling education and got clothes that you throw away… I already work for y’all. I’m at a sweatshops making these shirts for y’all.” Americans are money oriented people. Sometimes compulsive buying happens because of this. A lot of people like clothes and that may be what they spend most of their money on. Sometimes we have too much clothes that instead of donating them to people in need, they choose to throw them away. Living in America is the best thing that could happen to us. Everyone is free here and yet people still take their freedom for granted. Not everyone can say that they are free and have everything they need to
In conclusion, these are all the eight songs that I select for Our America: Life and Death on the South Side of Chicago. Several are not from African-American artists, but it doesn’t take away the gospel, jazz or blues impulse from the songs.
I see the form of Pathos in the album cover because at this time there was the Cold War going on, and we had just gotten out of southeast asia, so there was lots of patriotism that was being portrayed here. The way the thumb is pointed up seems that America is on the climb, and that everyone in America should feel that sense of, “America is a great country, and I am proud to live here.” Also, in the music video for this song, the “American Dream” seems to be portrayed very well because it shows, I can get a great new car and I can get a pretty girl to love me. Also you just seem to feel the patriotism from the video from how happy everyone seems and all the scenes happening, there are people dancing, and celebrating birthdays and playing lots of
Americans are defined by the respect they have for their country and its government, in taking advantage of their freedoms and rights that they gain by showing respect through allegiance, pride, and loyalty.
For many Americans, country isn’t just a type of music. It’s a lifestyle. From sippin’ sweet tea on the porch, drinking beer at a tailgate or driving a pick up down the backroads, country music has made its way into the hearts and minds of many Americans. It is one of the only truly home grown American art forms. Its relatability and wide appeal has made country music one of the most commercially successful and popular genres in the United States. Using the work of scholars Tichi, Pecknold, and Ellison, I will show how country music grew from its rural southern roots into an integral part of American culture.
My topic is God Bless America of Faith Ringgold. She is an African-American artist. She is not only a painter but also a writer, speaker and mixed media sculptor. Faith Ringgold was born on October 8th 1930 in Harlem, New York City and she is still alive. God Bless America is one of the most famous arts of Faith Ringgold that was produce in 1964. In that art, she used the oil on canvas and the dimension is 31x19 in. The subject of Faith Ringgold’s God Bless America is the woman on the background of American flag. There is another reason that make God Bless America became popular at that time. At that time, there was a Civil Right movement because the white prejudice against African American was enforced by the legal system. Therefore the theme
Primarily, one of the more obvious things about being an American is having freedom. You are permitted to do as you please as long as you don’t interfere in the way of others’ safety and freedom. For instance, I can express myself in countless ways and it wouldn’t be against the law. I could wear what I desire and say what I want to say. In
To be an American means more than just living in the country for a set amount of years. It means more than being granted citizenship, and more than just waving a Boy Scout American flag in your yard on Memorial Day. To be an American is to be free, and that is what we as Americans sometimes take for granted and forget. Being an American isn 't just living in the "greatest country in the world", there are plenty of other countries that say the same exact things. There are far less countries in this world, though, that are free, and have the American mindset. Not many countries employ so many freedoms and have the 'American dream '. The American mindset is not just something that

America is built on materialism and it created the idea that happiness is formed from consumption. Advertisements have successfully turned every major holiday into an opportunity for people to empty their pockets. For example,
Like any other country America has national symbols such as the American Flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the “Start Spangled Banner.” To be an American means that you support these things to fullest extent and hold them in the highest regard. This means that When the National Anthem is played or the Pledge of Allegiance is recited, it is our duty as Americans to stand, remove our hats and cover our hearts as a sign of the utmost respect. These symbols are a sign of our heritage. They stand for what we believe in, who we are, and where we come from. We are Americans. We believe in life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. True Americans speak the national language, English, and know that America is a one of a kind country that cannot be beat. We have worked hard over the years to become the wealthiest and the most prosperous country in the entire world. As Americans we have the right to drive a Hummers, the right to live in luxurious houses, because after all we’...

The government in the United States supposedly revolves around American ideals such as equality and diversity; however, this is simply not the case. The meaning of democracy has been skewed in the United States to represent something entirely different than it did in 1776 when the country was founded. Today, our democracy behaves more like an aristocracy, where the upper class exercises power within the government and state, influencing discourse and therefore the laws and resources in our country, purportedly “for the people”. Democracy is presumed to provide everyone with equal political power, but the government in today’s America, although seemingly following this ideal model, does not. Instead, the elite upper-class have a monopoly over
Many personal values are sacrificed in order to maintain freedom in the country. Freedom is kept by fighting against enemies in wars. Wars take a tremendous toll on the people in the country. Many of the things sacrificed for freedom are people’s lives, freedom, money, health, and emotions.
This song has a strong message about America being a “promise land.” “Only In America” which the singer is talking about is that talking about life in America that any desire that he or she wanted to be. Brooks and Dunn wrote this is an upbeat tone that is very rhythmic. Which is what draws the listener into the sounds and words. The theme of this song is rich and poor classes in America.
The lyrics are true to a certain point . Some people do come to America looking for freedom, even being poor, but they manage to survives not because of their drive or push to live in America , but also because their not alone. America is filled with probably every single race on planet earth. Neil Diamond says that he knows how it must feel to travel to a country you don't know, but he also says to not be afraid because America is a land of opportunities. Even though there are many differences between cultures, we still manage to stay intact, and that reason is because how great America
