Wedding Speech for a Maid of Honor or Best Woman
For those of you who don't know me.....I'm Misty.....Martha's friend of 17 years and her maid of honor. Martha, I just want you to know how honored I am to stand by your side on this special day. And can I just say how beautiful and happy you look right now? Gosh you would think it was your wedding day or something!
Martha and I met at James Rutter Middle School in the 7th grade. She was the "new student".......the "quiet" student. Or so everyone thought. Whenever we got together it was non-stop laughter, but whenever we were around other people it was a different story. I'm sure when most of you first met Martha you probably thought she didn't like you or that she had an attitude problem because of the way she looked at you when you spoke to her....you know---that "whatever" look. In school, people use to ask me if she was deaf. I would say, "No, believe me, she's hilarious!" They would look at me like, "Yeah right." It was kind of like that Warner Brothers frog that would only sing in front of his owner but around everyone else he would just sit there and ribbit.
As far as I could remember, since we've been growing up, we've had lots of good times and memories together. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were spending whole weekends at each other's houses, staying up all night getting carpal tunnel trying to win concert tickets on the radio. Whenever I think back to all the good times we've had, I can always picture myself laughing so hard, holding my stomach, trying to keep the tears from falling. Actually, wasn't that just yesterday? We started out inseparable and as we grew up sadly the weekend long sleepovers became fewer and fewer but nevertheless we still call each other and see each other whenever we're able to steal a few moments between those grown up responsibilities like work and relationships. Even though we're all grown up, some things never change. We still crack each other up and still have our "secret" language that only the two of us can understand like "Woodchuck to Grey Squirrel......come in Grey Squirrel" or "nduh". And even though I will always cherish the memories we've made and will make, it is time for us to create new ones.
For those of you that don’t know, I am Trey Rongisch and I am currently a student at Midland University. It is quite ironic how Nick and I first met, it was during my first college class. I would have never expected him to ask me to be his Best Man at his wedding in the short span of four months, but when he asked me, I just couldn’t turn down the offer. But I’m going to be honest, I’ve been feeling quite nervous about giving this speech for some time. But I’m pleased to say last night I slept like a baby – I woke up every two hours, crying my eyes out. With this in mind, I am ready to get this speech going and I must share how honored I am to be here today and speak on behalf of Nick and his beautiful wife, Katie.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I would like to echo the groom's sentiments and mention that all the bridesmaids look truly beautiful, indeed.
Leaders are considered as an important part to any successful organization because the leader is not just being a successful leader but also to bring achievement to the organization and its employees. “Leadership is the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of goals.” (Robins, page 221). Leaders insist employees on entering training courses to improve the productivity, and to expand their knowledge.
Ladies and Gentlemen – I’ll start by thanking Brian on behalf of the bridesmaids for his kind words.
A leader must possess this type of thinking of continuing learning not just thinking in the box but instead think outside the box. The leader is not inherent it was learned or skills that need practice or learned through continuous studies and experience. A leader must have a passion for learning in order to learn effectively, the needs to be open to new experiences and getting feedback from those around him or her. Without feedback, there is no room for improvement. A leader must focus on a room of improvement; he or she must evaluate the outcomes, if it is contributed or not. There are five elements of deliberate practice for consistent improvement: it is designed specifically to improve performance, it has to be repeated a lot, feedback on results must be continuously available, it is highly demanding mentally, and it is not that much fun. Learning for improvement is a best practice that a leader must possess to be able to support the organization in aiming its goal or
Finally, on behalf of the bride and groom I would like to thank everyone for sharing their special day, it is a true millstone - sorry milestone in their lives. On behalf of myself I wish you'd all stayed at home - as things would have been a lot easier on me. I started planning this speech about 5 months ago and I expect you all feel like I've been delivering it equally as long. But now it gives me immense pleasure (not to mention relief) to invite you to all stand and raise your glasses in a toast to John and Angie. To love, laughter and happily ever after. Leadership skills are essential for those who wish to lead change in an organisation. According to Kouzes and Posner leadership is a relationship between those who aspire to lead and those who choose to follow (2007). How this relationship works can be a determining factor in the success of a project or indeed an organisation. Not everyone is a born leader, but leadership skills can be developed and many theorists have come up with strategies and processes that can be followed to achieve this goal. When considering the term management, there has always been a common miss conception that this automatically makes an individual a leader. Leadership is only a single element of the management role. Many times managers are more comfortable utilizing a particular leadership style. While this may work well the majority of the time, certain employees or situations may require a different approach. Good leadership requires that the individual recognize the need for change to motivate their employees to accomplish the task at hand or to reach common goals. Understanding the importance of leadership is essential. However, the key element to focus on is what steps can be taken to improve one’s leadership capabilities. For many individuals this may be a difficult question to answer and may only be possible through self-assessment and reflection.
Hello how are you? I apologize for not keeping in touch, but I just wanted you to know I miss you and I wish you are well. I just turned 20 at the end of last year and I am close to ending my 2nd year in college, at UC Merced. Mostly with As and Bs. I wanted to thank you, for being so sincere and caring about me. You were right about everything, it feels like freshmen/sophomore years in high school in your class were so long ago, they were centuries ago..I am embarassed to even look back at my mistakes, but I can barely remember my high school self. Looking back I realized I should've been greatful with your concern and wisdom. If only I could tell younger self what I know now, and that there are so many more important things in the world.
Bowlby’s attachment theory has greatly influenced practice. His theory of attachment explains the importance of having a figure that the child shares a strong bond with. Having an attachment can significantly support a child’s development as Barbara Woods suggests that “his theory of attachment proposed that attachment is innate in both infants and mothers, and that the formation of this attachment is crucial for the infants development” Wood, B (2001, p.53). Bowlby believed that forming an attachment will help a child develop in all areas e.g. emotionally, physical and mentally. However if they did not form an attachment in the sensitive period, the child may have issues or problems in their cognitive, emotional and social development. “Attachment is as essential for the child’s psychological well-being as food is for physical health claimed Bowlby” Wood, B (2001, p.54). Bowlby claimed in this statement that attachment is a necessary thing which a child needs in order to develop healthily.

Throughout most of my life I have gained friendships and relationships with others that have turned into long term, but others which only lasted a short while. The friendship that has greatly impacted my life significantly over the last eight years is someone who means so much to me. This meaningful friendship all started back when I was in middle school, which has grown stronger over the years. I met Brooke in middle school because we had some of the same classes and were in homeroom together. Our friendship developed quickly and lasted throughout our high school years. We became really close our Junior and Senior year of high school. But, maintaining our friendship hasn’t always been so easy. Today, we text and call each other on our free time, but I know I can count and rely on her when I need someone to talk too. I call her my second sister and vice versa. And when we go home on breaks we see one another as much as we can. The best part of our relationship is that if one is in need of advice or in need of a shoulder to cry on, we are always there for one another. Keeping in contact is very important in our relationship and communication has played a key role in our relationship.
