Wedding Speech Delivered by the Bride
Families and friends. This has been a terrific day for Bob and I and we are both thrilled you could all be here. I wanted to say a few words in response to my Dad and thank a few people for all their support. I have spent a lot of time thinking about how to make these thanks – its amazing how much advice and how many books there are out there for Groom and Best Man’s speeches but there is not a lot out there to help the bride. So having failed to find any sensible advice in print, I thought I would ask around to the family and friends for some advice on what to say this evening. I didn’t get much advice about the speech but they gave me some useful snippets to use. Sarah found out that Bob and I will share our wedding day and anniversary with a very famous Royal – 2 very famous Royals in fact – the Queen obviously as I believe she is having some sort of celebration herself this weekend. The other Royal is the late King Edward who abdicated to be married to the love of his life – Mrs Simpson. Now I expect that Bob and I in time will be more like “The Simpsons” than Edward and Mrs but I trust we can be as happy as that couple were.
I have some thanks to make.
Firstly Paula – thanks for the “hairdo” and busting a gut to get here on time to have a trial run. Ben – thanks for taking photos for our guest book and thank you all for posing and signing it.
Sarah – you made your dress, you looked after me on my hen night (I’ll forgive you for buying me that Tia Maria and get you back some time). You have been the perfect Best Woman and a great friend for may years now. You have always been around for me through thick and thin and it was a privilege to be your bridesmaid last year. I have to thank your new husband Ian too for marrying you – it has been fantastic fun planning weddings together and thanks for all your top tips and ideas – many of which you can see we have stolen!
Simon – perhaps I should reserve my thanks to you until after your Best Man’s speech! Thanks for being such a good mate to Bob for so long and for brushing up so well today.
Firstly, I would like to thank Nick for his kind words on behalf of the bridesmaids and anyone else he mentioned. While I’m on the subject of gratitude, thanks also to Elite Golf Club and all the workers for a wonderful spread. Any chance of a golf membership?
Covenant according in bible's point of view is a promise made by God to man. According to the book of Genesis, Chapter 6 Verse 13, as a result of human's disobedient and evil ways on earth, God had planned to put an end to humanity with flood. The covenants between God and Noah was established in Genesis Chapter 9 Verse 11. God promised Noah and his descendants, never again would he destroy the earth by flood of water because of the pleasant sacrifice offered to God by Noah. God also confirmed his covenant by putting up signs in the sky in the form of a rainbow. The reason Noah and his family weren’t destroyed in the flood was because Noah found grace in God's sight. What this means is that God do not establish any kind of covenant with just anyone. Clearly Abel, Noah and Abraham were unshakable, upright and obedient towards God’s command.
Firstly, on behalf of the bridesmaids, I'd like to thank the groom for his kind words, and I have to say they have done an excellent job today and look absolutely wonderful.
So now I come to my final wedding day duty which isn’t a duty really – it’s a real pleasure: on behalf of the bridesmaids and myself I sincerely wish you, Daniel, and your lovely wife, Kim, everlasting love and happiness!
I’d like to begin by thanking the groom for asking me to be best man. I would also like to thank the bride for allowing him to ask me. The groom has a splendid set of friends, and to be nominated from such esteemed company is without doubt a great honor. Thanks also to the ushers, friends, and family who have all helped to make this day so special.
Best man 2 :Also, thanks must go to the beautiful bridesmaids, who did a fabulous job today getting the bride ready and making sure she didn't back out. So if you could please raise your glasses again. To the bridesmaids.
Ladies and Gentlemen – I’ll start by thanking Brian on behalf of the bridesmaids for his kind words.
The first covenant that I will begin with is the Noahic Covenant. The Noahic Covenant is one that many people may have heard of, because of the story of Noah and the Ark. Stephen Harris and Robert Platzner stated in The Old Testament An Introduction to the Hebrew Bible that in the Noachan Covenant that “ God encompass all forms of life as equally scared, emphasizing the interrelatedness of humans, animals, and birds, and the earth itself (16). Harris and Platzner give us the definition of the Noahic Covenant, as “A bond between God and every living creature, this covenant is universal and everlasting”(16). The New King James Version of The Holy Bible explains how and why the Noahic Covenant came about. It says in Genesis 9:11-13 states, “I establish My covenant with you: Never ag...
Within the Noahic covenant, there are various key aspects which cover different areas. Firstly is there the aspect of the re-affirmation of the responsibilities given to Adam such as populating the earth and dominating over the animals. Secondly, it established the how human life was to be viewed as sacred by establishing the punishment for taking life. Then finally it establishes how the earth will never be flooded again by God.
“The Godfather epitomized Hollywood’s relentless iconization of film Italian-Americans not only as popular cultural embodiments of their ethnic group but also as symbols of the ethnic experience in general, particularly for the extra-legal quest for the American Dream” according to Carlos E. Cortes (108). In fact, Cortes continues to further explain and depict how the fame and success of the film, The Godfather “integrated the major threads of seventy years of U.S. screen treatment of Italian-Americans” (108). The Godfather was released in 1972 and even to this day is considered one of the greatest films made. It depicted the life of an Italian-American mob family of Don Corleone thus showing their lives, and specifically the transformation of Michaels (youngest son) ordinary life into him being heavily involved with the mob (Browne, Cortes).
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I would like to echo the groom's sentiments and mention that all the bridesmaids look truly beautiful, indeed.
Finally, on behalf of the bride and groom I would like to thank everyone for sharing their special day, it is a true millstone - sorry milestone in their lives. On behalf of myself I wish you'd all stayed at home - as things would have been a lot easier on me. I started planning this speech about 5 months ago and I expect you all feel like I've been delivering it equally as long. But now it gives me immense pleasure (not to mention relief) to invite you to all stand and raise your glasses in a toast to John and Angie. To love, laughter and happily ever after. To John and Angie CONGRATULATIONS
I'd also like to thank you George, on behalf of the bridesmaids for your kind
Congratulations to all who made it to the end. And good thinking to all who just read the intro and skipped to the end. Smiles go to all of you. I’m not going to torture you with any more outrageously long words or lengthy sentences. Good bye and thank you, to all who took the time to read this.
Good Evening! For those of you who don?t know me, I?m Charlotte, the very proud sister of our glamorous Bride. I want to start by congratulating Kari and Ernest, and thanking all of you for coming here today.
