Wedding Speech - Best Man
First I?d like to thank GROOMS NAME for those kind words ? some sort of response is probably in order
Before I start, if there's anybody here who feels a little nervous and apprehensive, it's probably because you've just got married to GROOMS NAME.
I have a bit of an issue to raise, it has come to my attention that there is a bet on about the length of the Best Man's speech.... however I am sure you will all be glad to know that I got wind of this and have put a bet down of an hour, and with the kitty currently at $100 you might as well all settle and enjoy the ride...
So I have a bit of a dilemma ? do I drag the speech out for the hour so I win or do I get on with it so we can get in the bar?
As best man I have a few specific jobs to do today, this being one of them, and an earlier one being to make sure GROOMS NAME got here on time and in decent form, sober and smart - it is my responsibility to make sure his face and hair are in order. I think that this duty is quite unfair, and have frankly just tried to do the best I could given what I had to work with, although at least his hair today is a considerable improvement on some of the styles that he has sported over the years, which include a pony tail and an impeccable bob.
Another duty is to make sure that certain people are thanked for their part in today, so I?d like to take some time to thank a couple of people who ...
... middle of paper ...
...at with you both?long may it continue?
So, ladies and gentlemen, it really has been an honour and a pleasure being best man, but today I am the best man in title only. It?s GROOMS NAME and BRIDES NAME?s day and I wish them all the happiness in the world for this new chapter in their lives.
To round up then, I d like to thank you all for your attention, and let
me just say that if you've enjoyed listening to this speech as much as I
enjoyed making it, then all I can do is apologise most sincerely.
That's it. I am sure you will be as glad as me that there is no more, bar a toast, so if you would all please charge your glasses and be upstanding?ladies and gentlemen, the toast is the bride and groom?
Ladies and gentlemen, it is apparently my job to do all the thankyous. The first and biggest thankyou is to all of you. Thank you all for choosing to share today with us. We are delighted and touched to see so many of you here. And thank you, of course, for all the wonderful gifts.
Kain -Another duty of course is to thank John on behalf of the bridesmaids, for his kind words, and I have to say they look absolutely wonderful and have done an excellent job today. Wouldn’t you agree Brandon?
On behalf of my beautiful wife and I, we would like to thank you all for coming along, and sharing this very special day with us. And a huge thank you for the wonderful presents.
Power is a difficult concept to identify; it has been defined in several ways by many scholars. Hinings et al. (1967) state that power is analogous to bureaucracy, while Bierstedt (1950) and Blau (1964) state that it is purely coercion (Stojkovic et al, 2008). Moreover, Hall and Tolbert (2005) identify that there are five types of power, reward, coercive, legitimate, referent, and expert (Stojkovic et al, 2008). According to studies these five types of power are important and needed in a criminal justice agency for greater effectiveness and efficiency.
Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein as a response to a contest put forth by Lord Byron and her husband, Percy Shelley. The challenge was to write a horror story. Fittingly, her novel was influenced by the discussion they were having regarding the nature of life, referring to Darwin’s theory of Evolution, and the possibility of creating a creature. As a result, she wrote about a curious minded individual, Victor Frankenstein, assembling a creature with human parts and giving it life. The creature is neglected and abandoned, eventually became a monster. Despite his essential goodness, he is hated, and so he can only hate mankind in return.
Morphine has been used for many years in different cultures, and for different reasons. It has been abused, demolished, revived, and manufactured. It has saved many lives and ruined many more. It is the drug of choice for many who feel they need something to numb out the bad, and forget about the real. It is also the prescription of choice for men and women who just want to have their lives back. Although morphine addicts go through hell during their withdrawal stages, and how awful the drug can be through abuse, it offers very much to a wide array of patients suffering from diseases such as cancer, severe back pain, kidney stones, and pain associated in trauma.
It is customary for the best man to retell an embarrassing tale or two from the bridegroom’s past. As Gary’s oldest friend, this part of the speech fell to me. However, I had two problems with this. Firstly, Gary originally insisted on vetting the speech, which would have meant me going to the trouble of preparing two speeches. Luckily, he relented. Secondly, Gary is the original Mr. Nice Guy and it's very difficult to think of anything bad to say about him. So, back to you Steve!

The capacity of the peripheral vascular bed is increased and has reduced systemic venous return (Vasko, 1966). “Medical Phlebotomy” is a term that is commonly used to describe the effects of morphine of pulmonary edema (Vismara, Leaman, and Zelis, 1976).

Victor isn’t the only name from Frankenstein that came from Mary Shelley’s family, Elizabeth, William and the initials of MWS all have significant meanings in Shelley’s life. In Mary Shelley’s real life, Elizabeth was Percy’s favorite sister (Baldick 36), in Frankenstein Elizabeth was the name of Victor Frankenstein’s sister, and also his wife later on in the novel. And together the two, Percy and Elizabeth, were family favorites just as Elizabeth and Victor were also (Badalamenti 426). William, as one may remember is the younger brother of Victor who the monster killed in the beginning chapters o...
As Father of the Bride, I am honored to be the first to speak this evening. I would like to begin by welcoming each and every one of you on this joyous occasion. It is good to see so many friends and family here today to help celebrate Paula and Manson’s wedding. I would also like to remember those who have meant so much to our family, but could not be here today.
Best man 2 :Also, thanks must go to the beautiful bridesmaids, who did a fabulous job today getting the bride ready and making sure she didn't back out. So if you could please raise your glasses again. To the bridesmaids.
So now I come to my final wedding day duty which isn’t a duty really – it’s a real pleasure: on behalf of the bridesmaids and myself I sincerely wish you, Daniel, and your lovely wife, Kim, everlasting love and happiness!
The main reason I wanted to make a speech was to personally say thank you to some very special people who have contributed to today:
Ladies and gentlemen, thanks Gary for those kind words. It has been a pleasure for all us attendants to play a small part in your big day. Before I say a word or two about the groom, what about that dress Jeanie is wearing? It has attracted so much favorable comment from the guests here that I have to give it a special mention. You look stunning Jeanie!
