The rst step that we need to do is hire the right people and train them properly-as what Walmart is currently doing-and keep training them. It is important for us to set the goals and expecta- tions clear to all employees so they know what we expect from them. Training program can help our employees learn new things and im- prove the skills required for customer service.
A study has shown that satis ed employees make satis ed customers, which proves that there is a correlation between employee satis- faction and customer satisfaction. As one of the Americans largest employers, we should make our associates happy in order to gain their trust and to perform better. Em- ployee satisfaction raises employee produc- tivity, and higher productivity means great- er service and value to your customers. This value leads to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty, which promotes pro tability and continued success. Employees at Walmart stores are important to our organization be- cause they are the one who will attract loyal customers. If they do not treat the customers well, customers will leave and shop online (i.e. Amazon). Hence, treating our employees can help us to resolve the
The first Walmart was opened in Rogers, Arkansas in the year 1962 by a 44-year-old man by the name of Sam Walton. When he first envisioned Walmart, Walton believed that a successful business could be built around offering lower prices and great service. Despite his retail rivals laughing at his supposedly unsustainable business model, the company became hugely successful, and its success exceeded even Walton's expectations. The company went public in 1970, and the proceeds financed a steady expansion of the business. Today, Walmart is the largest retailer in the world, as it has 8,500 stores spread across 15 countries and annual revenues of $400 billion dollars. Moreover, Walmart is the
Wal-Mart as we know it today evolved from Sam Walton’s goals for great value and great customer service. Mr. Walton’s competitors thought his idea that a successful business could be built around offering lower prices and great service would never work. Mr. Walton also credited the rapid growth of Wal-Mart not just to the low costs that attracted his customers, but also to his associates. He relied on them to give customers the great shopping experience that would keep them coming back. Sam shared his vision for the company with associates in a way that was nearly unheard of in the industry. He made them partners in the success of the company, and firmly believed that this partnership was what made Walmart great.
The quality jobs that come with a Wal-Mart store provide employment and income to the members of the local community. A small retailer is most likely a family run business offering only a few jobs with little upward growth for those employees. In comparison, a single Wal-Mart store may offer around five hundred jobs. While most of the jobs are low wage jobs, Wal-Mart is not much different that other retailers (De Coster and Edmonds 632). However, those jobs at Wal-Mart come with competitive wages and comparable benefit packages to other ret...
Is Wal-Mart a More Positive or Negative Force in America? Wal-Mart is a chain of stores. It operates in a very vast market. This company comes with both advantages and disadvantages. It has changed the relationship between big-box retailers and manufacturers.
Walmart is one of the most successful franchises of all time and continues to take fire from multiple angles, whether it’s about the costing of jobs, the wages, the health insurance, the small business destruction, or the environmental impact, but can always back itself up by negating those claims with facts that proves that it is beneficial to the community.
Few companies create such controversy as Walmart has done with its approach to maintaining low costs for everyday items. People either love Walmart because of this approach to keeping prices down or hate it due to the effects it has on the economy. There are a lot of arguments surrounding the minimum wage and employee rights at Walmart. There seems to always be a news article about some employee protest about the wages or how they are treated. Walmart is viewed as an enormous firm that does not take care of its employees because of its minimum wage, treatment of its employees, and how it deals with lawsuits.
Investment in training will be able to improve Walmart’s financial position. Training can bring resolution to reduced performance issues by clarifying the particulars of the job. This will diminish doubling of efforts in the workplace, the period spent fixing slipups and the problem solving required to right bad performances. Enhanced performance from management training can lessen employee turnover, decrease repair expenses by reducing equipment failures and end in smaller amounts of customer grievances. Better performance from employees will naturally create little need for supervision and bring improved

Mr. Walton believed that teams will always do better than individuals hence; Walmart has always tried their best to make the employees happy and since happy employees can make happy customers and more sales Walmart will bring in. Another leadership quality Walmart possess is with the way their leaders keep employees focused on the goals and mission of the company and motivating them and being with them to overcome the obstacles. Employees are called associates and leaders are very active in
The 2001 documentary film "Store Wars: When Walmart Comes to Town" reported that turnover was about 70% a year, which is much higher than the rest of the retail industry. Since then it has fallen (Ritholtz). In the article by Coleman Peterson, an internal data analysis of Walmart showed that an associate leaves within the first 90 days because conflicts on their schedule or they prefer to work in a different area (Peterson). To address this issue, various promotions along with training & development strategies are used to support the company’s HR needs and increase employee morale. One way Walmart empowers their employees is by helping them achieve a higher status academically. Some universities like American Public University have agreed to give academic credits to company’s employees based on performance reviews and duration of employment. The company’s objective in using this method is to maximize cost-effectiveness of recruitment
While working for a local glass shop, I found that people pay a lot of money just to get there windows and mirrors replaced. Believe it or not, most of the cost is aimed towards labor. Some aspects of window repairs must be left to the professionals but some can be easily done by yourself. The hard part is finding a glass cutter, due to the fact that a lot of companies will not sell you one unless you have a business license in the glass business. If you get the cutter then you have overcome the hard part, no to cut the glass.
This is to help retain the second most important stakeholder, the customer. Why do most people go to Walmart? Because it is cheap and they have almost anything you need. Now this leads to the third most important stakeholder, the employees. The concerns of the employee are “job security and higher wages”.

...arket, they still attempt to improve their performance in other areas, by contributing to charity and hence improving their local reputation, however they have very low customer and employee satisfaction. These lowered performance indicators stem from low employee motivation. It would be very beneficial for Walmart to increase these performance factors as the small cost of improving employee’s conditions and motivation would be balanced by not having to re-hire 70% of their work force every year.
