The Wachowski brothers began writing the Matrix in 1982, after 16 years of perfecting the script they began filming for production in 1998 for it to released spring of 1999. The Wachowski’s make many argument throughout the film about technology. The Wachowski’s appeal to the audience's’ sense of pathos, ethos, and imagery. The speaker of the film were the Wachowski brothers, they were showing what dystopia technology could bring by spreading their fear of technology. During the film they appealed to many different audiences and created many different tones throughout the scenes. Through the course of the movie the main tone was very dark. This scene also changed to tone, creating hope for the audience the Neo would beat the agents and prove that he is the One. A major theme toward the end of the movie was “Love conquers all”. In the film love was able to keep Neo alive and help him defeat Agent Smith. The love the Neo and Trinity shared was able to conquer all the negative that came Neo’s way. Once Trinity kissed Neo he was brought back from death proving that the love they shared was more powerful than any bullet shot at Neo. The writers also appealed to the audience's sense of ethos when they included ideas of the Christ myth as one of the major themes in the movie. There were many references to the Christ myth throughout the movie some examples are “ my own personal Jesus Christ” and “ you don’t exist”. By Neo being the One, a person who would save everyone apart of the resistance from the agents, he was compared to Christ who is the One for the Christian
