Ever since she had started developing a plan, it was undeniable to admit that the time Vladislava had been spending around her family had been lessening at a rapid pace. No doubt this was due to the remorse that she had felt in not telling them everything. Eventually, she felt her morality. She even found her morality started to yearn, wanting her to tell someone, but she hadn’t, due to the fear of the familial and political implication it could have. Though she knew her heart was definitely in the right place, in wanting the best for the Alkaev’s — how could they ever know the same? All though she wasn’t currently aware of it, the recent enough death of her Aunt was all too much of a reminder that the expectations of the actions of family members didn’t always go according to one’s belief. …show more content…

She needed to take a risk, and so she had sent for Roland Laurent. Admittedly, she didn’t exactly trust him, but his proved loyalty towards her family had caused her to at least begin to try. Besides, trusting Roland Laurent was an excellent place to start if she were ever to gain a bigger crown, she needed to trust people — that easier said than done for her, though. Subconsciously, she also hoped that the knight would also be a good reminder of her home, who and why she was doing all of this for. At the same time, she just hoped that he wouldn’t make her miss Nymarra too much. It was only when she started to hear movement outside of her chamber’s door did she realise that she had been far too deep into her thoughts.
