Ever since she had started developing a plan, it was undeniable to admit that the time Vladislava had been spending around her family had been lessening at a rapid pace. No doubt this was due to the remorse that she had felt in not telling them everything. Eventually, she felt her morality. She even found her morality started to yearn, wanting her to tell someone, but she hadn’t, due to the fear of the familial and political implication it could have. Though she knew her heart was definitely in the right place, in wanting the best for the Alkaev’s — how could they ever know the same? All though she wasn’t currently aware of it, the recent enough death of her Aunt was all too much of a reminder that the expectations of the actions of family members didn’t always go according to one’s belief. …show more content…
That all said, due to her stubborn nature, Vladislava couldn’t and wouldn’t allow herself to sit anymore, awaiting for word from others.
She needed to take a risk, and so she had sent for Roland Laurent. Admittedly, she didn’t exactly trust him, but his proved loyalty towards her family had caused her to at least begin to try. Besides, trusting Roland Laurent was an excellent place to start if she were ever to gain a bigger crown, she needed to trust people — that easier said than done for her, though. Subconsciously, she also hoped that the knight would also be a good reminder of her home, who and why she was doing all of this for. At the same time, she just hoped that he wouldn’t make her miss Nymarra too much. It was only when she started to hear movement outside of her chamber’s door did she realise that she had been far too deep into her thoughts. As she sighed to herself, still looking out one of the one window’s of her chamber; it had always been a problem for her it seemed, getting this deep into thought and forgetting her
surroundings. Her head turned as one of her maid’s came in nodding her head a bit. “Good.” Vladislava began, “Invite Messere Laurent, then sit with me.” She turned from the window, dusting the skirt of her dress off a bit due to the nervousness she still had. Shortly after, she sat in one of her many chairs’ and after formal introductions, she started explaining things to him with one of her ladies maid near her as well. “I am guessing, you are wondering why I have suddenly called for you.” She paused, watching him and his body language carefully. “Can you keep a secret, for now, Messerre Laurent?” She asked her head cocking to the side ever so slightly. “Though only Adanna and fate only know where I will come to a halt, I need help.” Her Father always told her the truth would set her free, and he was right — with a sigh of relief she smiled a bit.

The adoption of Eastern Orthodoxy by the Slavs marked a new era for the culture of Russia. In the Primary Chronicle we come across many tales that illustrate the transformation from staunch paganism to strict Orthodox Christianity that was adopted by the state. The tale “Vladimir Christianizes Russia” is one such story that glorifies Vladimir’s great triumph in choosing Eastern Orthodoxy and delivering the Slavs to salvation. Through justifying the adoption of Christianity, emphasizing the importance of aestheticism in ceremony, and illustrating the overwhelming Slavic transition from paganism to Christianity we are able to glean the importance of Vladimir’s success in transitioning the Slavs to Eastern Orthodoxy.
Previously, the narrator has intimated, “She had all her life long been accustomed to harbor thoughts and emotions which never voiced themselves. They had never taken the form of struggles. They belonged to her and were her own.” Her thoughts and emotions engulf her, but she does not “struggle” with them. They “belonged to her and were her own.” She does not have to share them with anyone; conversely, she must share her life and her money with her husband and children and with the many social organizations and functions her role demands.
The novel, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, presents moral issues, and daily dehumanization of men living in a camp in Russia in 1951. Ivan Denisovich, the protagonist in the novel spoke out against Stalin, and was then put in a prison camp because of it. The novel presents a terrible situation in which Ivan must overcome daily circumstances, which only a person living in a prison camp would know how to survive. The tone and mood of the novel are able to work together to show the theme of the novel, that human self-respect is achieved as long as one is still holding onto it.

“Communism is the death of the soul. It is the organization of total conformity - in short, of tyranny - and it is committed to making tyranny universal.” is a quote said by Adlai E. Stevenson. This quote is stating that which is evident by the use of the word “tyranny” which means the “arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power”, mainly from an absolute ruler. When picked apart, this quote is stating that communism only spreads arbitrariness through the total conformity that communism instills. The message that this quote is sending is alluded to in the book One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Alexander Solzhenitsyn's purpose in episodes one and two of One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich is to develop Ivan Denisovich Shukhov as a mediator for personal views and then to present those views on life, prison, and authority to the reader. This purpose is accomplished by the author's use of characterization, symbolism, and aphorism.
For my senior project I am making a biography photo album of the faculty, administration, and staff members at the Austin Area High School. I decided to my project on this simply because I thought it would something interesting to do and have fun with. It is an easy way to learn a few interesting things about the people at my school. I came up with this idea when I realized there wasn’t really anything in our school with information on our faculty members, administration and staff members. They know a lot about us, so I figured it would be nice to put something together about them.

The cabin is very still save for her rocking and the flickering red flame in the fireplace. I pluck a leather-bound book from the wooden shelf and sit at my desk. The white square of window fades to black. She stays there nonetheless—rocking, rocking, eyes fixed on something somewhere in the impenetrable darkness. I light my oil lamp, layering shadows across the walls. I pull out a well of ink and my quill pen.
She could not understand the fact that it was time for her to go. Her aunt fought cancer for ten years and it took her life away. Beatrix was staring at herself in the mirror, trying to talk herself into walking outside into the hallway, and then track down her class. She had fallen asleep for no more than three hours, she couldn’t sleep no matter how exhausted her body was, her mind would just not settle. She couldn’t understand why. Nerves maybe? Excitement? Whilst she was awake she had unpacked, had a shower, and done her hair and make-up. Yet it was still only seven in the morning.
