When they do come, they bring things with them, such as: culture, religious beliefs, customs, and their belongings that they can bring. Most of these people have to leave behind almost everything they have. Some of these people chose to come to the United States and they sacrificed everything they had to make it possible. Her mother, Gina(Guangco) Hudgens, was an office worker and she is from the Philippines. Her father, Gregory Hudgens, was a firefighter and he has Irish and Native American ancestry. Vanessa has a younger sister named Stella Hudgens. Stella is also an actress. Vanessa has many different nicknames that she has acquired over the years such as: Nessa, V, Van, Baby V, and Vanney. Vanessa’s ethnicities consist of: Filipino, Chinese, and Spanish (from her mother); Irish and American Indian (from her father). Vanessa has had a lot of influence from these cultures in her childhood. Around the house, the different cultures play a big role in her life. Her parents keep traditions and make foods from their different cultures. Her mother's culture influences her the most out of all the cultures because her mother is actually an immigrant from the Philippines. Her mother still has traditions and values that she keeps hold to and her mother shares these with the family
(Hudgens). Vanessa was introduced to theatre and showbiz at an early age. At the age of 8, she began to appear in small musicals. Vanessa was inspired by her grandparents at a young age because they were musicians. Vanessa was homeschooled until seventh grade. For a very short amount of time, she attended Orange County High School of the Arts. Vanessa got her first gig at an audition for a commercial because one of her friends could not go, so she asked Vanessa to go. Her career took off from there. With her getting the spot in the Tv commercial, her family decided to move to Los Angeles. She did not get to attend high school because she started out with homeschooling. Even though she missed out on the high school experience, she got her chance when she landed her spot on the cast of High School Musical in 2006. She signed a contract with Hollywood Records in June of 2006. Vanessa was very interested in singing, so much that she actually had a plan to audition for American Idol in 2002. Anything having to do with theatre or a camera caught Vanessa’s attention. One of her favorite hobbies is photography. She participated in many auditions early in her career. When she was chosen to play Gabriella Montz, in High School Musical, her auditioning was over for a while. She had to spend a lot of her time on the set of High School Musical, so she did not have much time to take on any more roles in different movies. She has always looked up to singers Alicia Keys and Céline Dion and she says they influenced her a lot even when she was just starting her acting career (Hudgens). She is said to be very attractive and her skin is a little bit darker than the normal white person. She shares many traditions of her culture in her family. They eat food that was made in the Philippines and they eat Native American food. Vanessa and her sister have been changed because of the culture they grew up in within their house, and it seems to have helped them succeed in their acting careers because they have a variety of traits that directors look for. Even though Vanessa is not from a different country, does not mean that her ancestors culture cannot affect the way she lives. Her mother is a native of Manila, Philippines and she came to the United States. (“Filipino Immigrants”) Vanessa has a lot of cultural ties to her mother because of where her mother is from. Many of the traditions go on throughout the family and people that look to Vanessa as an influence, can see these cultural traditions that her mother has introduced into their family. Vanessa Hudgens has been very successful throughout her career so far and she has influenced so many people. Her cultural ties to her mother's culture may not be seen in everything Vanessa does, but she does stay true to her values when it comes to family traditions and people that pay attention to her will know that. The United States of America always had a reputation of being the land of newcomers and immigrants. Principally, in the 16th and 17th century Puritans arrived in the New World (modern day eastern USA) to be able to practice their religion; Moreover , throughout the 19th century Irish and German immigrants left their homeland to seek job opportunities and resources in the United States. Furthermore, throughout the 20th century, immigrants arrived from other parts of the world such as Eastern Europe , Mexico, and etc. Logically, there's a pattern in the sociology of the United States. Why would foreigners come to the United States and leave their homeland?
Immigration has been prevalent in The United States of America since the days of colonization in the 17th century. Masses of migrants around the world have sought a place in which to escape persecution, gain economic fortunes, and live their lives in freedom. America has always symbolized the land of opportunity everyone has been looking for, as exemplified by the inscription on The Statue of Liberty:
These immigrants venture to the U.S. in pursuit of a ‘Dream’. As a result, areas where
America is often known as the land of opportunity, a place where you can be free. Many Immigrants came to America so that they could have a greater possibility at succeeding in life. Immigrants took a leap of faith when coming to America, for some it worked out well but for others they had a difficult time here. Despite the struggles that the immigrants encountered such as; standing out from others, being separated from their families, and breaking their culture, the immigrants are still grateful to be in America because they were in better conditions than they were in their home land. When viewing interviews or looking at an immigrant’s perspective you get many responses to being in America, some major things that stood out were the amount of freedom the immigrant had, and the age of the immigrant. These two things had a huge impact on the opinion of America from an Immigrants point of view.
America the land of opportunities, millions of people have left their countries to look for a chance to start a new life, a new beginning. Over the last 400 years, immigrants from different parts of the world left their countries for different reasons, some for war in their homelands others for economic and social reasons. Mexican community was one of the first group of people that stablished a strong presence in the country; therefor had and still has big influence in the development of the United States economically and industrially. Besides the contributions of the Mexican Community to America, Mexican decedents had faced challenges of acceptance from the American society, in a land that once was Mexican territory.
There are many challenges that one must face as we go through life. I have faced a few myself, however, none proved more challenging than moving from my country; Jamaica, to the United States and subsequently moving to the state of Wisconsin. Deciding to leave behind family and friends is the hardest decision to make, however, there are a few things that I was not prepared for that made the transition more challenging than expected. Moving away from all that is familiar culturally, socially and economically can be even more of a daunting task than imagined. There are things that are taught to us by our parents and others that are more dictated by our environment than anything else, so when I immigrated to the United States I had three major challenges to overcome.
The United State’s immigration policy has undergone great change since the turn of the 20th century. Many things have contributed to this change, such as political problems, poverty, lack of jobs, and in fact our changing policy. The countries affected by these problems may have changed but the problems themselves have not. No matter what the location or time period, people have been driven from their homeland as result of political disputes. There will always be poor, 3rd world countries that can not create a prosperous environment for their people. As a result of general poverty, few jobs are available, which forces citizens to look beyond the borders for work. Our changing immigration policy is motivation for some immigrants to come to America. If the U.S. is accepting a high number of one country’s immigrants, than many of their citizens will emigrate for America, some legally and others illegally. The United State’s has changed its immigration policy many times in the last 100 years but the reasons for resettlement have remained generally the same.
Her parents, Carlos Santos (a Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro) and Carmen Carnot (a Cuban from Havana) raised her with her brother, Tiago Santos. Santos earned the degree majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology from the California Lutheran University.
Among every other country in the world, the United States of America is where people feel the most comfortable place to come and live a better life. Immigrants are people who leave their counties to reside in other counties that are rich and safe to better themselves. Every year people immigrate to the USA for many reasons. Many people are having difficulty living in their native country such as over population, jobless which make the economy so hard. People from outside of the United States think there is peace, love, equality, free education, jobs, good food to stay healthy, but most importantly freedom of speech to express yourself in America. Today, I will only focus on some reasons why people in my country immigrates to America. This is

When it comes to immigration many things comes to a person mind. There are many things that an immigrant faces when he/she decides to migrate to another country. For instance, for an immigrant moving is not an easy thing to do they will have to leave everything behind and start over again in a whole different country than their own native country. At first is going to be hard because they do not know anyone, they do not speak the language. The parents will have to look for a house and also look for a job to support their family and learn how to survive in what seems like a different world. These are some of the problems that immigrants face when coming to the United States.
To paraphrase, peoples who move to the America have same attitudes, beliefs and behaviors with those who use to be around them, and they left their culture because they like American culture more. American culture value being self reliant independent person. I think we need to understand that the immigrants are not familiar with American culture, and they create problems in the community. When I first come to the United States of America, I was so confused about the American culture. I made a lot of mistakes because I did not understand the rules and regulations.
Some immigrants are force to move to the United States because the situation of their countries are hard. The flow of Mexican
