VOIP DEPLOYMENT Welcome to the deployment of voice over IP or VOIP. This paper will explain the advantages and the disadvantages of using VOIP. The quality of service or QoS will be discussed. Security problems and solutions for IP telephone systems and networks. The basics and many protocols will be discussed. The voice clarity considerations will be discussed. Business 911 requirements for VOIP phone systems. The end-to-end VPN’s versus firewall-based VPNs. VOIP what are the advantages of having the system. Cost savings, cost reduction, phone portability, Service mobility and integration with other applications. The cost saving is extremely less expensive than the old Private Branch Exchange (PBX). There are no charges for long distance calls and online directories. The company saves money on equipment, lines and manpower. The local service providers provide an assortment of services. The VOIP system supports email, instant messages, video conference calls and sending images. VOIP will run the regular systems like phone and fax. Today’s world is full of on the go technology. Phones can go anywhere as long as they have an IP connection. IP phones have the same numbers and go anywhere in the world. Service is available almost everywhere for the IP phones. This makes the office mobile. The call features and the voicemail access to the security features and service policies. The VOIP is part of a larger trend toward converged communications. Emailing systems along with web browsers are what the new generations live on. The social-networking crowd loves the systems. VOIP makes this all possible. The data networks are becoming increasingly reliable and high-speed networks. The disadvantages to the VOIP sys... ... middle of paper ... ...he ability to use firewalls for analyzing VOIP traffic for malicious or suspicious patterns would be lost. The right hardware and software to meet the challenges of the company’s VOIP security will keep your system safe. The final upgrade will make your system more efficient and less expensive than the old PBX. Make sure you plan out your upgrade. It will take many upgrades to get what you need or what you think will work. Technology is changing daily. Research is your best option of keeping on top the best products and best protocols. Firewall features are provided at the base of network virtualization platforms to bring about segmentation. It allows automated provisioning and context sharing across virtual platforms which lead to increased visibility and security across applications on virtual or physical workloads. This would have been impossible in the past as it would compromise either security or performance. Improved security through virtualization helps you gain mileage over challenges that would otherwise ruin your reputation among clients (Kotsovinos,
The first issue is that conversation for upgrading existing networks from 1-GE to 10 GE, 40 GE, and 100 GE. For large enterprises that already deploy one solution, it may be difficult and costly to go from 1 to 10 GE. This is because they would be forced to reorganize and get rid of existing calming. Though with the new cabling that would be installed there would, in the end, be less, it would be expensive to reorganize, reframe, reconnect networks and require manpower to do such tasks. Compatibility between these GE’s as well matters as without the latest version is compatible with the previous issues could arise across networks and successfully transferring data. Meaning that there could be a loss of data if there is not a secure connection across networks.
Act - In this phase ISMS improvements are implemented. Continuous monitoring of the process will ensure process improvement.
South Street Hospital (SSH) is 1 of 12 not-for-profit healthcare systems in the Great West Hospital System. Their corporate call center located at Great West handles all 12 hospitals. Dr. Canton is a colorectal surgeon at SSH. His office received an irate call from Mr. Gutsy canceling his surgery scheduled for the next day. He claimed that a woman from SSH had called him demanding that he bring money to the admitting center for his co-pay but stated that he could not remember her name. He stated that he did not want to go anywhere that makes these kinds of demands (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2012).
Adding to that, Telus should focus promoting the expansion of the internet to all Canadian provinces with the existing promotion practices with some extra additions. Currently, promotion practices are relatively stimulating, when it comes to their standard advertisements. They involve their consumer’s interests and preferences. Telus uses endearing animals to advertise their service on television, but they pick these animals with the help of customers. They hold contests online on their website that allows people to vote for their favorite animal and the animal that receives the maximum amount of the vote is put on the next Telus commercial on television. As per the geographic region expansion concept, Telus would focus on capturing important
The development (or iteration) of the new system was approved due to successful budgetary results over the previous two years and growth trends expected over the next two years. Additionally, ongoing maintenance on the system as problems began to arise was beginning to negatively influence production performance, and a need to iterate the system to incorporate evolving production goals was identified. The successful budget of the previous years encouraged the approval of replacing the current conversion system with a successor that promises to increase production performance while lowering the fixed costs of salaried programmers needed to maintain it.
The most significant advantage of VoIP over the traditional system is: it is cheaper. Although it will take some time to happen, you can be sure that, eventually, all of the circuit-switched networks will be replaced with packet-switching technology. IP telephony just makes sense, in terms of both economics and infrastructure requirements. More and more businesses are installing VoIP systems, and the technology will continue to grow in popularity as it makes its way into our homes.

Virtual Private Network presents some advantages over the traditional network technologies. VPN offers direct cost savings over leased lines or long-distance calls for remote access, savings resulting from reduced training requirements and equipment, increased flexibility, scalability, and security. The main advantage of VPN is the cost savings of Internet VPN when compared to networks built using conventional leased lines. Leased lines include tariffs that have an installation fee, a fixed monthly cost, and a mileage charge. The cost to an organization of traditional leased lines may be reasonable at first but can increase exponentially as the organization grows. As an organization grows and more companies must be added to the network, the number of leased lines required increases dramatically. VPN that utilizes the Internet avoids this problem by simply tapping into the geographically distributed access already available. Another way VPN reduces costs is by reducing the need for long-distance telephone charges for remote access. Instead of having the offsite team of a company dial into the corporate modem bank via long distance lines, the company’s VPN allows them to simply place local calls to the ISP’s POP in order to connect to the corporate network.
The packet-filtering firewall will keep out unauthorized data from entering the network and reduce the number of ports that are accessible by the users and outside threats.
Vonage has created a tool that prompts callers to select a few options from a phone menu. Once a caller dials into a company number, an automated record plays and informs the caller how to reach a desired extension. The extension numbers and the recordings can be updated from the administration portal in the settings page. The tool gives a company ability to create multiple virtual receptionists and scheduled to specific times. For example, one can set up a virtual receptionist for holidays or non- business hours. This ensures that there are no calls that get unattended at anytime whether on a holiday, working hours or past the business hours.
This will give us the advantage of sending very large pieces of information over the phone line. The only thing that we do know about the telephone, is that it has come a long way since its first discovery by the inventor Alexander Graham Bell. A man who will always be remembered.

Communicating with anyone in the world continues to get more efficient every single day. Technology has made communicating faster and in better quality. Business meetings can now be held with people anywhere in the world, at any time during the day, over a video call. Business people are also using email so much more than they are the telephone because of the efficiency. People do not answer a phone call when they do not know the number that is calling them. People will answer an email much faster than calling back a person who has left a voicemail for them.
Making a telephone call no longer should conjure up visions of operators connecting cables by hand or even of electrical signals causing relays to click into place and effect connections during dialing. The telephone system now is just a multilevel computer network with software switches in the network nodes to route calls get through much more quickly and reliably than they did in the past. A disadvantage is the potential for dramatic and widespread failures; for as has happened.
