A Day In The Life Of Upset English Teacher
Contrary to popular belief teachers have one of the hardest jobs known to man. The daily responsibility of having to educate hundreds of students with different personalities and backgrounds can be a task within itself. While feeling pressures of wanting every student to be successful and occurring the endless challenges, can frustrate and upset the teacher. Throughout this paper I will demonstrate different ways we as students upset our English teacher. Their are many ways to upset your English teacher, and make them disappointed in you or the entire class. What I have see so far by students is that we have a tendency to get out of our seats without permission. The teachers get upset with us

But some of us think they are trying to control us and tell us what to do. Talking loud will get you in a lot of trouble if your talking over them. We all have our times where we don't want to listen but we need to because they just want to help us learn. Even though we might not understand something they are always willing to help, and we should let them. Other ways to upset your teacher would be eating or drinking in the classroom. That's like one of the biggest pet peeves teachers have, but mainly the food they don't really like us with it in class. Some teachers will allow water but not any type of food soda and juice. When we don't follow these rules they'll get upset, and tell us to throw it away or they end up doing it. It's best to listen the first time other than getting into trouble or calling your parents. One of the biggest things I know a English teacher won't like, is when you try to start an argument with them. You can also make them upset with you by lying on the teacher, or saying they we're picking on you. But when you try to start a fight with your teacher it isn't going to go the way you want it to. So it would be best to just obey your English teacher or any other teacher you have, so you can stay out of unnecessary conflicts. So just remember that the things I've just talked about, are things to upset your teacher so don't attempt to do
Carolyn Segal Foster, a writer and an English professor at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, writes about some of the things she has experienced as a teacher in “The Dog Ate My Homework and Other Tales of Woe.” Segal’s purpose is to describe her opinion and the stories that her students have come up with in order to get out of doing the assigned homework. A sarcastic tone is used throughout the paper to help students and teachers find humor. The author of, “The Dog Ate My Homework and Other Tales of Woe,” Carolyn Foster Segal, uses rhetorical questions, sarcasm, and narration to share her opinion on her experiences from stories of students who have tried to avoid homework deadlines by creating a common ground for teachers and students to understand.
As described by Rose, in his vocational track, students were constantly yelled at, for example the P.E teacher, in some cases it relates to the lesson that the syst...

Many that would discourage me as I walked through the door for the first time. None of my teachers would teach me how to write like Mrs. Plot did. It is so hard going from an encouraging teacher that cares for you, to a teacher that is only there to get paid. In my opinion, English is the most important class to be taught. To teach English you should have to be more qualified because it is not fair to the students to fail the basics of all subjects and miss out on practicing how to write. I struggled in my writing classes because of the way my teachers decided
There are a variety of ways that teachers can do to assist students to meet this goal. One instance is providing and discussing examples of good student writings. This will help me and my fellow students to recognize the components of what makes good work and it would help students identify alternative methods to use when writing for a specific assignment. Providing detailed feedback for syntax and grammar errors can also be helpful in improving my writing. For example, instead of writing “awk” as a feedback on a poorly constructed sentence, it would be more helpful if the teacher were to provide reasons to why it was awkward and to give clear instructions. It may impede the teacher’s free time, but their help will give me an opportunity to use it as a guide when revising my writing and it will improve my future essay assignments.
This can be particularly difficult for students who tend to translate and define words. In my experience, students can sound unintentionally rude or negative by simply choosing the wrong word. When referring to the word as wrong, it is only wrong in connotation, not in literal meaning. It is common for students to use words such as thin and skinny interchangeably, without noting the connotation. When reading, students do not always identify the connotation of a word and the effect it can have on the sentence and the general meaning of the text. It requires critical reading to be able to identify such
College English is a big difference compared to how high school English was taught. Many differences that I have noticed with these few past weeks that I have been here at Fresno State University would be how the group exercises are structured, how the professor shows interest about the student’s improvements with their work, and how the course materials are presented to the class. High school was not the greatest experience that I could have had during my educational years. Many of my teachers that I had throughout my high school career were not the worst but they were far from the best. I always felt like they did not care about how our work turned out, also they always seemed to help the students that were good in the subject, and that they
It’s just like a normal day, but he then calls me to his desk with a previous work sheet in his hand with why written all over it. How does he have this why does he have this. He then asks me what this means, I hate being put on the spot so I just shrug hoping he will just ignore this. With a new teacher i want to have a good first impression so when i ignore him when he tells me to read he won’t get suspicious at first. The worst thing I could imagine happens he says since this happened he wants me to write a paragraph about myself I can’t write either.
As a teacher language is the most important tool in order to support student learning. The book Elementary Classroom Management by Kerry Williams discusses how language is an important tool to use “language can be a powerful vehicle for activating thought, and as teachers we need to be aware of the role it is playing” (ref pg. 196). The use of words and tone that the teacher uses to the students is significant in the behaviour of students. For example if a student is displaying
If you are gentle with your students and do not yell or get angry at them they will learn from this and mimic how you treat them. Since they are still learning at such a young age it is important to never yell or get angry at them and think about other ways to solve the problem because yelling will just cause more problems (Jalongo & Isenberg
The First Grade Fiend First grade started off like any other school year, everyone was overjoyed to meet our new teacher. The first week of school Mrs.W was extraordinary, bringing us treats, and goodie bags. After the first month of school we all noticed a shift in her personality, she was controlling and didn’t seem to have any patience what so ever. On one specific occasion, my friend was talking a bit louder than the rest of us and Mrs.W didn’t seem to be pleased with that. She starred at my friend until most of the class noticed something was wrong.
Considering a different situation such as a classroom you may dispute everything your professor says, no matter how simple. Try to get him/her to "prove" everything to you, rant and rave about what a big liar your professor is. Yell at students who are taking notes, saying, "Stop writing down all these lies!" Do this every day; this should definitely annoy your professor and even your classmates. For those Bingo ...
Along these two weeks we have been prompt to make a recall to our own way of learning and why we became a teacher: Was it because coincidence, due to life circumstances, maybe because family tradition, was it a conscious decision or because someone influenced us? Whatever the answer is, we have to face reality and be conscious that being a teacher does not only means to teach a lesson and asses students learning. It requires playing the different roles a teacher must perform whenever is needed and required by our learners, identify our pupils needs and preferences, respecting their integrity and individuality but influencing and motivating them to improve themselves and become independent.
While it is true that your life experiences can be a source of inspiration for them, it is imperative that you exercise discretion in giving them details. It is strictly inadvisable to tell them about your real-life experiences that involve conflicts with your school head or administrator, fellow teachers, or other school personnel. Be the master of your emotions, especially when you face the class. Accept the reality that sometimes, if not always, tensions develop in the classroom. Hold back your tears, even if you feel like crying.
