In the world today, there is a huge battle emerging whenever professional astrologers of the tropical and sidereal gather together. This appears to happen due to viewpoints based on the unproven vs. proven ideological in relation to the cosmos. The primary focus of this comparison and contrast will review both with a secondary cruise into the neglected and provisionary keys that affect the awareness herein. It’s time we move along in the stream of thoughts moving into the river of knowledge that carries humanity onto the oceans of quality life.
The May 2008 UAC (United Astrology Conference) in Denver, CO was quite the active event, one of the largest throughout the country and the history of them. Several professionals had attended in order to provide services, products, education, and more. There was a tropical astrologer from the AYA (Association for Young Astrologers) who wrote “It is this sort of indescribable feeling that is really addicting, and when the conference ends it leaves you with this weird sense of longing to experience it again” (Brenan, 2008, para. 18) about this event.
Many of the astrologers are often excited about large conference events, as if they gain a sense connecting more directly with the universe of the like-minded. Gathering together in the controversial debate leads to heated argument when a fact presented to cancel’s out a non-factual stance wrapped up in assumed belief. This was more than obvious with some of the professionals who cling to the tropical framework interpreting luminaries, planets, etc. that aren’t visible where they claim they are. Sidereal practitioners interpret the stars based on their actual viewable position that is provable with the use of a telescope.

The next piece of data used is from Harvard. Harvard is known as a home of scholars and highly intelligent individuals. Fridman challenges this connotation by citing the “rampant anti-intellectualism” within the college. This data and the backing that follows has a profound effect on the reader. If even the highest point in America’s intellectual scene has been poisoned by this stigma then the implication is that nowhere is safe for those seeking unbridles

One of the most notable contributors to the field of astronomy, never actually worked a telescope. The unjust discrimination against women barred one of the most brilliant astronomers of the 20th century from ever actually viewing the stars she was studying. This did not pose a problem however, as Henrietta Swan Leavitt challenged these notions of female inferiority and ineptitude by entering the predominately male field of astrology and excelling. Henrietta Leavitt's prodigious discovery of the period-luminosity relationship amongst Cepheid variable stars would forever change the way we perceive the universe and known galaxies as well as lay the foundation for astronomers such as Harlow Shapley, Hertzsprung, and Edwin Hubble to expand our knowledge of the universe.

I have chosen to write about the constellation Cancer (The Crab). I chose Cancer because it is one of only a handful of constellations that I am actually able to identify in the night sky. Cancer is one of the twelve Zodiac constellations; people whose birthdays fall between June 21st and July 22nd have Cancer as their sign. Cancer is the Latin word for crab, and despite the fact that the constellation looks more like a lobster then a crab, it is still referred to as a crab. The constellation is visible from the northern hemisphere from late winter to early spring.
Religion and Science are two conflicting forces that guide our rationality and our beliefs. Science takes a more practical and concrete approach to finding the answers to our questions through testing and evidence. Religion is centered on our minds and human spirituality and finding answers to things from our own perspective and ideology. However different they may be they serve the same purpose in our society; it is a means to answer some of the burning questions that we do not have answers to. The short story, “The Star” by Arthur C. Clarke plays on the idea of the two vastly different ideas and intertwining and portraying the narrator as both a scientific and religious figure. The narrator firmly believes that the two ideas are truly connected but faces a revelation and that forces him to rethink about his ideology.
“New World Romans” is what Aveni called these ancient astronomers. Settled in what now is Peru in 1400 to 1532 C.E, the Inca Empire was a large and sophisticated society that was later conquered by the Spanish. Many mysteries were left untold in their 132-year reign. Along with their mysteries, their beautiful land housed a complex system called the Ceque System. Understanding the Ceque system gives us a painting of the civilization and how they operated. The Ceque being a centralized system brought everything together, from religion, calendar to even their hydrology (Aveni, 138). As the “New World Romans” emerged early 15th century, it is with no doubt this civilization paid attention to the heavens above and has us pondering how they did
In the renaissance period stars were said to have a great impact on society. The Elizabethans were absorbed by celestial prophesy also called astrology, the reading of the different positions of stars, and their impact on people. It was also used as an important political instrument by the rulers as it gave them guidance and future predictions, thus astrology was regarded as important mainly for its popularity among the monarchs especially queen Elizabeth because she was known for her friendship and consultation with john Dee, a famous astrologist.

One of the most read sections in the paper today is the astrological page. Why is that? It's because people look for easy answers to their everyday problems. But most people would not believe that their horoscope was probably someone else's horoscope from the day before. People will try to make what they read really happen. So if your horoscope for today said that you are going to have a great day and you'll be in a good mood, you probably will have a day like that, only because you read it early in the day and that person who wrote that influenced you to try and actually make a great day for yourself. Coming from personal experience, one of my exgirlfriends read our horoscope on if we were going to be a long lasting couple. She was very much into the whole tarot card readings and into astrology. She would read them every day. I suppose you can already figure out what the horoscope said? Yes, it said that we weren't going to last.
This type of horoscope is prepared by an astrologer who takes your specific details like the date and exact time of your birth.
Astrology has had its ups and downs through history, but it always maintained that station of being. (www.astrologers.com/history.html# Relevant, p.1) After some aspects of religion became prevalent, astrology became known as the “work of the devil”. (Weblinker.com Enterprises, p.1) During the Renaissance, though, astrology became more liked than before. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1) Even religious leaders began to practice astrology more often. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1) People of the royal families had their own astrologers. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1) That is how worldwide astrology was. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1)
