A horoscope is an interpretation of the planet and sun's orbit around each other at the time of birth. This positioning of the sun gives a person their zodiac sign, and it's often used to predict the course of their life as well as explain personality and characteristics. A horoscope can be refered to as a natal chart, astro-chart, sky-map, radix and celestial map.
The astrological chart that people use to predict an event or answer a question is filled with symbols and signs that represent the planet's configurations and patterns. From the chart, an astrologer will perform complex calculations to answer questions or predict events.

A solar arc chart is a bit similar to the previously mentioned chart, but the progressed chart will move all the planets as one unit. In a solar chart, each planet is moved individually, which creates an arc that evaluates where each planet will be in the future.

Planets, Sun and Moon Representations
Each of the planets as well as the sun and moon can represent parts of our personality that can reflect how we'll deal with situations. The sun often reflects the biggest goals in our lives, or things we want deeply. The moon represents our emotional selves.
The planets reflect other parts of us like Venus, which reflects the way we relate to other people. Mars represents our energy and talents.
Why People Read
The zodiac calendar is an astrological theory that divides the path that the sun seems to follow around the earth into twelve equal sections, each of which are associated with a sign, a symbol and a personality type. John Gardner embraces this astrological theme in his parallel novel, Grendel, by connecting each of the twelve chapters to its coinciding zodiac.

Today we have new technology that allows us to do many incredible things. One of those things is the ability to calculate the stars, where they will go and where they have been. Most know of the star of Bethlehem and how it symbolizes the birth of Jesus. The star of Bethlehem marks the birth of Jesus but what about when Jesus was conceived, did the sky show any signs then? Yes, in Revelation 12:1 it states “A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.” What does that have to do with the conception of Jesus? Well, if you take our new technology you can go back and see exactly what happened that night. That night Jupiter came into close conjunction with Regulas then turned around (retrograde motion)and passed Regulas two more times. Jupiter for centuries has been known as the king planet and Regulus in the Roman culture is called Rex which means king. Regulus is part of the constellation Leo the Lion. The constellation following Leo the Lion was Virgo, the virgin, and the sun was passing through her – a woman clothed in the sun . And the moon was close to the foot of the...
To better understand the planets, we need to first have a basic understanding of our
Astronomers use the HR Diagram to learn many different factors of a star. They can analyze the distance, determine its temperature, identify its classification, establish the star luminosity and plot the stars position. All of these factors can be tied into the HR Diagram.
The basic astrological assumptions are not hard to grasp. For if astronomy is the study of the movements of the heavenly bodies, then astrology is the study of the effects of those movements. The astronomers of the ancient world assumed a division of the universe whereby the superior, immutable bodies of the celestial worlds ruled over the terrestrial or sublunary sphere, where all was mortality and change. It was assumed that the stars had special qualities and influences which were transmitted downwards upon the passive earth, and which varied in their effect, according to the changing relationship of the heavenly bodies to each other. They were led to postulate a single system in which the seven moving stars or planet shifted their position in relation to the earth and each other, against a fixed backcloth of the twelve signs of the zodiac.
The Sun is a huge, bright sphere that is mostly made up of gas that is about 5 billion years old. The Sun is the closest to the Earth, it is 145 million km distant (this distance is called an Astronomical Unit). The next closest star is 300,000 times further away. There are probably millions of similar stars in the Milky Way galaxy (and even more galaxies in the Universe), but the Sun is the most important to us because it supports life on Earth.

Walking on a clear night a person can’t help but look up and see the stars. Each beautiful, illuminating the night sky along with the moon, far away yet close enough to admire and wonder. I sit sometimes outside and just look up and gaze in wonder at the stars, but the scientists in me thinks further. The stars are like our sun in the solar system, hydrogen balls, exploding, radiating energy and light in all directions yet we are so far that we see them as specks in the night sky. Then there are those night where Venus and Mercury can be seen among the stars, almost a spiritual experience. Science has taught us that gravity and other laws of nature control the movement of such celestial objects and control everyday happenings where most would not give it a second thought.
It was not up until 200 years ago that people started identifying their zodiac sign with the position of the Sun. So when a person is asked what is his or sign, the Sun was passing through on the day that person was born. This can be demonstrated on a birth chart. Our birth charts are special "sky maps" which reflect the quality of the exact moment we drew our first breath. With that first breath, we each began our own incredible hero's journey through life on planet Earth. The birth positions of the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto all play their own unique symbolic roles as messengers and ambassadors of the universe.
Numerology is the study of numbers and how they apply to a person's life and future events. Today, it is often used in combination with astrological readings and tarot card spreads. However, the practice began in early ancient times, and has evolved though the years. When people believe in astrology, what they believe is that the planets and stars directly or indirectly influence their lives and determine what happens to them in life. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1) The stars are said to show guidance and meaning for the lives of people. (Woolfolk, p.297)
Our solar system has eight planets, their moons and satellites, and they are all orbiting the Sun. The eight planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Pluto used to be the ninth planet but IAU changed the definition of planet and Pluto did not meet the standards so it is now a Dwarf planet.
